1.4. Mean time to rectify should be minimal.
1.5. Operating costs must be low.

2. Site conditions:
2.1. The sites are having electrostatic and electromagnetic fields due to charged
equipment at 400kV level. The equipment supplied shall have inbuilt protection
against voltages developed by these fields.
2.2. The equipment shall work in ambient temperature range -10°C to +50°C and
relative humidity up to 95%.

3. Intruder alert system:

3.1. The intruder alert system shall be installed on the boundary walls. Barbed wire
and concertina coils are already laid over the boundary wall on Y-shaped MS
angles. All the modifications required for installation of intruder alert system
shall be in the scope of contractor.
3.2. The boundary wall shall be covered with multiple zones. Each zone shall be
having maximum length of 200m. In case of alarm / intrusion detected in one
zone, the remaining zones shall continue to work.
3.3. The system shall not generate false alarms due to birds, rain, snow etc.
3.4. The equipment shall be of quad beam infrared transmitter and receiver type
with minimum detection time 50ms.
3.5. All the metallic components installed shall be galvanized / chrome plated to
avoid corrosion due to atmosphere. All the outdoor nonmetallic components
provided shall be UV stabilized and designed for external use.
3.6. The outdoor equipment shall confirm to IP65.
3.7. The indication of intrusion shall be displayed in control room clearly indicating
the zone. Common audio alarm shall also be provided for the same.
3.8. All the intrusions detected, reboot operation of intruder alert system and system
self-check alarms shall be saved in system event log list. The system shall
have history of last 500 events stored for analyzing the data at later stage. The
time of the system shall be GPS synchronized or manually settable by the user.
3.9. Two potential free watchdog contacts for monitoring of intruder alert system
shall be provider for use by the owner. The contacts shall be in “ON” condition
for following conditions independently:
3.9.1. Control panel is OFF / any slave unit is OFF.
3.9.2. Intrusion detected in any zone.

4. Power supply:
4.1. The system shall work on AC voltage 230V (±10%) and frequency 50Hz (±5%).
4.2. The system should have battery backup of minimum 10 hours, so that in case
of power failure the system should remain in service.
4.3. If the power supply for slave units has to be taken from other point available
along the boundary wall instead of power supply for main unit, separate battery
backup for both the supplies shall be provided.
4.4. The connection between slave units has to be provided through PVC insulated
10C x 1.5sqmm copper armored cables.
4.5. The scope of work shall include excavation, preparation of sand bedding, soil
cover, supply and installation of brick or concrete protective covers, back filling
and ramming. Cables shall be buried in the ground at a depth of 300mm below
finish formation level
