NotOnMap is an out of box business opportunities where the tourism in India is in its very crude
form. They explore some much unseen places that are in the natural state of being are right now not
touched by the big MNCs. Hence as they call, it these are the most unexplored places and
exploration of these sites is exploring India in its most rustic form. They not only attract the
travellers but also the students and research scientists. The aim is the economic development of
these areas sustainably. Aiming at 80% revenue transfer to the development of the local people and
towards the development of the village. NOM acts as if a facilitator is actually the voice of the
villagers and farmers; they advocate their life styles and acts as extended family member who thinks
and acts on their behalf. The belief of the workers in NOM is that they wish to crate Model Villages,
which act like new destination for travel and try to curate places, which matches the conceptual
belief.

NOM Iis a social initiative

NotOnMap is a handcrafted, social Driven initiative that helps travellers

around the world to experience comfortable stay, culture and food. For what
remains engraved is memories and we grieve to gain that by giving deep
rooted cultural exchange which equally gives meaning to one’s travel and also
for the host house/family/village.

NotOnMap provides beyond a destination to stay; it rather creates a

mechanism of Cultural exchange for everyone, where each side gets
to learn & contribute from each other. The database of all travellers is
accessible to village council/Panchayat and other residents and they
can interact with any visitor for any assistance or information
gathering in future. Thus we created the concept of ‘Local Friend’
where a ‘Real Connection happens’ unlike the ‘Virtual connect’ in this
age of Social Media.
NotOnMap is one stop solution for travellers of all budget (Students
to researchers) have the zeal for cultural exploration in rural India
with the aim of 80% of the revenue going towards the development of
the local people & part of it goes towards the overall development of
the village.

What is NOM

NOM is a social driven initiative generating alternative livelihood &

minimizing unskilled migration from traditional villages with age old cultural
value system. This migration happens not by choice but due to lack of
modern influence, lack
of so-called knowledge & education, exploitation by middle man OR not
been provided with their share of ‘Travel Economy’.
NotOnMap started working from those villages/houses where technology &
travel influence has been minimal; and hence they have been cut off from
getting their true share of economy.
While big organizations are busy protecting ancient cities, palaces &
monuments; NotOnMap is protecting the current lifestyle of neglected
farmers which will be wiped out with time if not given due attention.
NotOnMap is protecting & promoting the cultural heritage of India by
keeping Tourism at the CORE; and we are doing it by creating new “Model
Villages”, creating new destination for travel & curating places which
matches our conceptual belief.

Live Like Local

Live Life As Lived By Locals in houses as old as 100 years.

‘One Stop Solution’ for rustic & rare destinations near any important city in
India. It’s NOT for those who are looking for luxury but for travellers with
‘Hunger for Culture’ and want to Live Life As Lived By Locals.
NotOnMap tries to ensure that the experiences are beyond leisure & fun, rather
it becomes more inclusive where travellers engage with local community &
conduct predefined activity & workshops for children, parents, students,
teachers, women & youth.

For Example - Lecture by academician in school on various subjects & career

counselling, free health camp by travellers who are doctors, adventure training
by experienced mountaineers/professionals, awareness campaign for
sanitation and women safety by social workers, developing entrepreneurship
amongst the rural youth, workshop to upgrade traditional skills of rural youth,
creating library in the village etc.

NotOnMap provides beyond a destination to stay; it rather creates a mechanism

of Cultural exchange for everyone, where each side gets to learn & contribute
from each other. The database of all travellers is accessible to village
council/Panchayat and other residents and they can interact with any visitor for
any assistance or information gathering in future.

Thus we created concept of ‘Local Friend’ where a ‘Real Connection happen’

unlike the ‘Virtual connect’ in this age of Social Media.

OUR CONCEPT

NotOnMap’s concept is that of a travel company that facilitates Socio-Cultural

Exchange, where we strive to provide travellers with beautiful experiences at
remote locations and vice versa. We open doors of local homes, with hosts who
extend their warm hospitality to travellers and allow a deeper impact cultural
exchange that benefits both parties.

We believe in giving not just a

home to stay but an entire
village for the guest to stay.
You might just stay in one house but end up having meals in many
other houses as they would have become your friends during your
stay in the village. This develops the meaning of community stay
and allows more socio-cultural aspect to travel. We are working with
aim to empower local villagers & thus It is a socially concern
initiative with focus on responsible tourism and 80% of revenue
goes to the local villagers who help this initiative grow. It is an
initiative "For Travellers and started By passionate Travellers" who
have travelled such remote places all across the country.
