User Interface

4 User Interface
This section describes basic components of the GUI.

4.1 Operator Desktop

On working with the system, different applications are used (for example, the Monitor and the Map v2).
With their help the operator has the ability to work with video received from the camera, to control
camera PTZ, to work with the video recordings, etc..

Some applications can be grouped into independent Desktops. Only one Desktop's applications can be
used simultaneously. The number of Desktops and its components are set by the system administrator.

Example. For example, the administrator has set two operator Desktops. The first Desktop includes only one
application — the Monitor (see Figure 3), the second Desktop consists of the Monitor and the Map v2
applications (see Figure 4).

4.2 Control Panel

The Control Panel is intended for switching between operator Desktops, switching system users, and
system shutdown. Its appearance is shown in Figure 5.

Figure 5. SecurOS Control Panel

Additional Information
The Control Panel can also be used to launch special system control commands. The given possibility depends on
the system settings.

Only active Desktops and Macros are displayed on the Control Panel. The number of displayed objects of
each type is defined by the system settings and changes dynamically. If the max value is exceeded, all
additional objects are hidden and can be activated from the appropriate menu:

 — for the Desktops;

 — for the Macros.

4.2.1 Control Panel Activation

By default, after logging in, the system Control Panel is hidden. To display it after logging in, press and
hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while moving the mouse pointer to the top edge of the screen.

corresponding Desktop button, or select the Desktop from the menu (see Control Panel section).

4.2.2.2 User Session Administration

The Control Panel allows to switch the user and shutdown the system. Click the Change user/

Shutdown system button ( , see Control Panel section) and select the necessary command
from the drop-down list. A detailed description is in the Changing User And Logging Off section.

4.2.2.3 Hide Control Panel

After the Control Panel is activated it is permanently displayed on the desktop over all other windows.

To hide it manually click the Hide Control Panel button ( ).

4.3 Monitor - Application To Display And Work With Video

The Monitor represents the main application used by the operator, and is intended for the display and
operation with the video received from the cameras.
Video from separate cameras is displayed in cells of which the central (working) area of the Monitor
consists. The camera cell contains control elements intended for performance of typical operations with
video. Along the edges of the working area, there are toolbars serving for performance of other
operations. The Monitor's appearance with default settings is shown in Figure 6.

www.isscctv.com

2. Click on the required one. Video from the camera will be displayed in theMonitor active cell.

4.3.2 Layouts And Pages

Video received from all cameras connected to the system and added to the Monitor's Camera list, is
displayed on the Monitor simultaneously, in a page mode. The Monitor page is the working area that
contains the number of cells which is defined by a current layout. The Monitor layout is set by mouse
click on the corresponding button of the Layouts Bar (see figure 8) which is highlighted.

Figure 8. Layout bar

The number of Monitor pages depends both on the current layout, and from the total quantity of cameras
connected to the system. If the total quantity of the cameras connected to the system exceeds an
admissible number of the cells displayed on one page at the selected layout, the remaining cells are
displayed on the next page. Switching to the next page (paging) in manual or in automatic mode is
carried out by means of Camera Control Bar (see figure 9).

Figure 9. Camera Control

Bar

Example. If 20 cameras are connected to the system and the 3x3 layout is selected then the total number of
Monitor pages is 3, thus the last page will contain only 2 cells.

4.3.3 Cameras In Cells

By default, the camera order in the cells of the Monitor pages is set by the system and can be changed by
the user.

4.3.3.1 Reordering Cameras In Cells
