1.1 Product description
The DEFIview PC software can be used to export and analyze the

1.2 System requirements


To use DEFIview you will require a PC with the
following specifications:

• Operating system: Microsoft Windows

Corporation in the USA and/or other countries.)

• Graphics card: minimum resolution 1,920 x 1,080 pixels

respective instructions for use for the devices, the
components, and the accessories.

1. Insert the USB stick in the PC.

2. Run the DEFIview2.exe file.


The installation wizard starts up.

3. If necessary: Click Run.

4. Click Next.

5. If necessary: select the destination directory in which


you would like DEFIview to be saved.
6. Click Next.

7. If necessary: select the Start Menu folder.

8. Click Next.

9. If necessary: place a check next to the file


associations Weinmann DefiView file (*.wmd).
10. Click Next.

11. If necessary: place a check next to Create a desktop icon.

12. Click Next.


The installation wizard continues with the installation.

13. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Result The installation is complete.


DEFIview can now be used.

4 Preparation and operation


4.1 Starting DEFIview

1. Start the software:


• by double-clicking the desktop symbol DEFIview

or

• via Start | All Programs | DEFIview |

DEFIview Result DEFIview starts up.

4.2 Opening session data


Requirement The program has started and the session data are already
saved on the PC.
When the program starts, the Archive window opens.

1. Open the desired session data in the Archive window by:

• double-clicking the correct line

or
• single-clicking the correct line.

• Confirm your selection by clicking Open

or

• click Import.

• Select the destination folder where the session data


you require are saved.
• Select the session data.

• Confirm your selection by clicking Open.

Intermediate result A new line with the required data appears in the Archive window.
Open the required session data by:

• double-clicking the correct line

or
• single-clicking the correct line.

• Confirm your selection by clicking

Open. Result The session data are opened.

4.3 Defining the settings


1. Select Menu | File | Settings.

Result The Settings window opens.

You can change the basic settings for the PC software in the
Settings menu. The following parameters can be set:

configuration (default selection: H2 Standalone).

*The language will be changed the next time you restart
the software.

2. Click OK.
Intermediate result The settings are saved.

3. Close and restart DEFIview.

4.4 Using the SD card


Loss of data due to incorrect SD card!
SD cards not purchased from Weinmann may have
reduced functionality or result in the loss of data.
⇒ Only use SD cards from Weinmann.
⇒ Do not use the SD card for third-party files.

4.4.1 Inserting the SD card


Requirement The session data are on the SD card.

1. Connect SD card to the PC:

• via the SD card slot of the PC

or
• via an external card reader connected to the PC.

2. The files saved on the SD card are transferred to the PC.

Result The session data from the SD card can be used on the PC
with DEFIview.
Further information on using the SD card in the device can

be found in the MEDUCORE Standard or MEDUCORE
Standard instructions for use.

4.4.2 Deleting data from the SD card


Requirement There is an SD card in the PC's card slot or in an external
card reader connected to the PC.
1. Select all the files to be deleted.

2. Delete the files:

• via the Del key

or

• clicking the right mouse button.

3. Confirm the prompt.


All data on the SD card are erased.
Result The SD card is empty.

Opens the archive with an overview of individual

Patient data The user can enter supplementary patient data and
comments here.
Shows the last passed or failed function checks. The

deactivated options. Available only for MEDUCORE

1 File Print Opens the print settings for printing session data.
Saves session data in wmd format. Alternatively,
Save session data can be saved in zip format and unpacked.
This delivers one file in edf format and one file in xml
format.
Opens the settings for sending by e- mail. This
Send by e-mail generates a pdf file appended to an e-mail as an
attachment. Supported e-mail programs are Microsoft
Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird.
Settings Opens Settings.
Exit program Exits and closes DEFIview.
Default Sets curve view to ECG leads II, Pads and to the

6-lead ECG Sets curve view to ECG leads I, II, III, aVR, aVL and aVF.

4.5.5 Edit patient data

1. Click on the Patient data button


or
2. select Menu | File | Patient data.

Result The Edit window opens.


Here you can enter or edit the patient and session data and
any other comments.

3. Edit data.

4. Click OK.
Result Data are edited and saved.

4.5.6 Measuring the ECG amplitudes


Requirement The session data are opened (see "4.2 Opening session

1. Select a starting point in the ECG leads with the cursor.

2. Click the left mouse button once.

3. Draw the cursor across the range to be measured.

Intermediate result A red coordinate triangle appears.


The size of the coordinate triangle can be altered as required
and in all four quadrant directions by moving the mouse. The
horizontal side measures the time difference between the
starting point and end point in milliseconds (ms); the vertical
side measures the amplitude in millivolts (mV).
4. Select the end measuring point.

5. Click the left mouse button once.

6. Read off the measured values next to the

selection. Result ECG amplitudes measured.

4.5.7 ECG lead displayed individually.


Requirement The session data are opened (see "4.2 Opening session
data", page 8).

1. Click on the Magnifying glass symbol.

Result The required ECG lead is displayed individually.

4.5.8 Hide ECG lead


Requirement The session data are opened (see "4.2 Opening session
data", page 8).

Click on the Close magnifying glass symbol.

Result The required ECG lead is hidden.

4.5.9 Add and hide ECG leads


Requirement Session data are open (see "4.2 Opening session data", page
8).

1. Use the PC mouse to right-click on the left-hand edge of


the page.

Intermediate result A list of ECG leads appears.

2. Use the PC mouse to left-click on any ECG

leads. Result The desired ECG leads are added or hidden.
