Practical Session: REPORT GUIDE

Introduction
This guide is intended to provide hints to help students preparing a complete and effective report re-
sulted from the practical session in Santolo beach. The following primary information must be presented
in the report with clear text along with sketch (figure) and tabulation when necessary:
1. The height of tidal Bench Mark with respect to Mean Sea Level (MSL).
2. The method for the determination of MSL from the longest available tidal observation data
3. All relevant tidal levels, at least Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT) and Highest Astronomical Tide
(HAT).
4. Quality assessment of longest available tidal observation data according to local short term tidal
observation by using pressure-type tide gauge.
5. Quality assessment local short term tidal observation by using pressure-type tide gauge according
to manual tidal observation.
6. Characteristics (i.e. magnitude, direction, temporal evolution) of local meteorology-oceanography
entailing tide, wave, current, and wind.

measure of agreement!

Instruction
Read (and understand) any relevant text book(s)! Go through all questions in a consecutive manner,
part-by-part, number-by-number. Assure that the information you put in the report are accurate, effec-
tive, and presented in a correct mechanical convention! When necessary, add figures, tables, and/or
equations to fortify your explanation! The ultimate purpose of the answer is that you understand the ma-
terial you are describing. Discuss your answers with your class mates. Ensure that the discussion leads
you to uniform understanding. When necessary, confirm your understanding with your lecturer.
WARNING – Course notes (i.e. lecture presentation slide) will never be able to help you to accomplish this assign-
ment. Course notes are meant only as check list of teaching materials and to guide class discussion.
