3.0 INTRODUCTION
This chapter focuses on research method, mode of analysis, mode of data collection. This
research uses the questionnaire and tape recording on the spot observation on language change in
English lexicon and another on the language behavior or attitude of the student of Lagos State
University, Ojo. Also, in this chapter the provision of the sample area as earlier said and the
subjects used for study is explained and as well as the area of study.

The instrument used for collection of data for this research is basically questionnaire and
tape recording. To collate the data, the research personally and meticulously administered
structured questionnaire to the learning in Lagos State University, Ojo. A total number of one
hundred copies of questionnaires were administered but not all were administered on the same
day. It took the researcher one week to administer all the questionnaires.

The questionnaire contains three parts. The first part (section A) is characterized by
personal information such as name, sex, language spoken, qualification, grade level. The second
part of the questionnaire (section B) contains the question to language change in the concept of
English lexicon with some lexis familiar to the respondents to give the intend meaning. The third
part (section C) is the question to the attitude of the respondents. Respondents are expected to
tick the column in front of each item best to their response and fill up others where necessary.
In this thesis, the researcher will use simple percentage to analyze the data collected. Using
the quantitative method for the analysis, I will look at the responds to explore such lexical items
in order to see how much they follow to existing morphology and meaning, to unravel users’
