Common mistakes when filling in the Eco Report

1. Missing submission of Eco Report


There is the case that a certain voyage report is missing.

2. File Name
Please name the Excel file “ECOREPORT_(SHIPNAME)_(VOY.No.)”. Do not put
any spaces in the name. Pay particular attention to use of the underbar ( _ ) for
separation. In addition, use only capital letters and Arabic number (1, 2, 3, etc)
Wrong: ECOREPROT_NYK STAR Ⅲ 235
Correct: ECOREPROT_NYKSTAR3_235

3. Ship’s Name
Do not put prefixes – such as “M/V”, “M/S” and “S/S” – in front of the ship’s name.

4. Departure and Arrival date


Please separate year, month and day with a slash mark “ / “.
Wrong: 2007 2 17
Correct: 2007/2/17 (Year/Month/Day)

5. Time
When you fill in Hours Under Way, Hours Propelling and Hours In Port, please use
a colon (:) so that hours and minutes can be indicated automatically.
Wrong: If you type “245H56M” ⇒ “245H56M” is indicated
Correct: Please type “245:56” ⇒ “245h56m” will be indicated

6. Fuel(M/T)
If there is no fuel consumption, please fill in “0” and do not type any terms such as
“Nil”, “N/A” , “ - ” or empty spaces.
There are sometimes incorrect fill-in of fuel data in “At Sea”.

7. Cargo
If there is no cargo, please fill in “0” and do not type any terms such as “Nil”, “N/A” ,
“ - ” or empty spaces.
In the case of a container ship, please input both cargo weight (M/T) and TEU.
In the case of a PCC, please input both cargo weight (M/T) and UNIT.
In the case of a LNG ship, please input both cargo weight (M/T) and cargo volume
(M3).

8. In Port date
There are the cases that a last port data are missing.

9. “At Sea” and “During Sea Passage”
The range of “At Sea” is from departure to arrival, and the range of “During Sea
passage” is from SOP (Start of sea passage) to EOP (End of sea passage).
Input data of “During Sea passage” is larger that input data of “At Sea”. (It is correct
that input data of “At Sea” is larger that input data of “During Sea passage”.)

10.Light FO
Light FO means light fuel oil, that is ISO8217 GRADES RMA through RMD
(Heavy Fuel Oil Viscosity @50℃:< 80 cSt). It does not mean low sulfur fuel oil.
There are the cases that consumption of low sulfur fuel oil is inputted in Light FO
column.
Please input consumption of low sulfur fuel oil in DO/GO column.
