UNIGEL Viscosifer
General Description Advantages

Universal Performance Chemicals Pvt Ltd

• Hydrates more than other types of clays
UNIGEL is a bentonite, sodium montmorillonite clay
and is best for generating viscosity,
that will yield 91 to 100 barrels of 15-cP mud per ton
developing gels for suspension and
(1.7 m3/100 kg).

• Small particle size, unique flat shape and
control and suspension agent in freshwater systems,
high surface area of hydrated UNIGEL
and has application in all water-base
viscosifier provides superior filtration
mud systems. UNIGEL viscosifier is a high-quality
characteristics
product which meets the ISO 1350 0 Clause 9, API
• Promotes the deposition of thin,
Spec 13A, Section 9 specifications for bentonite
compressible filter cakes in the wellbore

Application

UNIGEL is used to increase viscosity and reduce

fluid-loss in water-base drilling fluid
s. It is a cost-effective means of achieving viscosity,
fluid-loss control and filter- cake quality in freshwater
and seawater muds.
As with all UNIGEL products, the yield decreases as
water salinity increases. In muds containing more
than 10,000 mg/L chlorides, the performance of
UNIGEL is significantly reduced unless pre hydrated
in freshwater before adding to the mud system.
