How I can change the future of my country

Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is Dumitrita and today I’m going to talk about how I can
change the future of my country.
First of all, it is not a new thing for everyone that the situation in our country isn’t so good. We
have a lot of problems in different parts of country and they are like big stones for everyone, but
the problem is that no one changes the stones into something beautiful, they just avoid them.
I wouldn’t tell you now about all the problems, because yes, there are a lot of them, but we can
change the situation. We can change the situations around us and give a hand not just for one
person but for all our country.
I think that changes come from us, so everyone can turn any situation from bad into a good one.
And that’s OK. It will always be OK. We just have to listen to everyone and to accept what they
want or at least to know how to cooperate in order to find a common ground and do not criticize
or complain about different things and wait for somebody to change the situation for better
Firstly, I would try to stop corruption which is strong located in our country. This problem stops
our development and our sure steps in EU. I think that we should understand that if we want
more for our country like: good roads, honest politicians, better conditions. This problem stops
everything. A solution for that problem is to change our police and political people into a new
ones. Another point is to help people to realize that money wouldn’t help them forever and in
each situation, to know that money will destroy their own future and their families one and also
the future of the country where they live. If we stop this, we would have a possibility to improve
our roads that are not in the best state. Our economy will become better and more stable. This
will be a help for us in a lot of ways.
Another thing that I would do is to offer jobs for unemployment people. This will help a lot of
people to have a better life and will help country to reduce the increase number of unemployment
people.
Next is the problem of number of the people that usually leave our country. The problem is that
they don’t have where to use their abilities. Even if they are some simple builders they aren’t
paid very well and sometimes they can’t afford a good life. Majority of that people are young
people that want to show their abilities into another country because they can’t do that here. For
young specialists, I think I would build a block of apartments in each city which they will be able
to rent or to buy for a not high price. In this way, they would have the opportunity not to worry
about searching a rent or buying a home. They will have a job and also a home.
Now, I would like to turn your attention to education. As a student I can tell you that school is
interesting and tiring at the same time. Personally I think that the problem is that sometimes we
learn things that we probably wouldn’t use them in the future. The problem is that not everyone
wants to become a doctor, teacher or an engineer so they don’t want to learn biology or math.
Yes, these subjects are interesting and also in some parts important and you can learn them just
for yourself. We learn the basic stuff in primary school and till the 9th grade. I think so because
also till that grade you learn something that you will probably need, but I think that teenagers
could choose a job for themselves and go where they want. So, it could be good for them and
they will learn what they will need. This is much easier for them and much more interesting.
Another thing is the curriculum. For some kids it’s hard to learn because the school information
looks hard for them and if they have extracurricular activities they don’t succeed. I also want to
tell you that my mom is a teacher and this year they had to give children a questionnaire and
there was a question linked to this problem and most of them answered that they did not
understand the material because it was too sophisticated for them and they considered that
some of the material wouldn’t help them in the future and I really want to say that the majority
think like me, that this is right because they have another extracurricular activities which they
really like doing where they can enhance their own skills.
To solve that I would reduce the material and I would like to introduce the possibility to learn
subjects that will help pupils in their future job. Also I would like to introduce life subjects that
will help student to understand how to react at different problems and how to solve them or also
how to behave in a group of people, at work for example or at a simple party. For realization of
this problem I also could exchange with other schools from other countries and together could
experience new different methods of work.
An interesting thing for promoting reading is a “library bus”. I know that in our country are a lot
of broken buses and also old ones that could be renewed, cleaned, painted and used like a library
or a place where everyone could read and take books and instead of the book which they took
they could put another one. The bus also could be painted by children who are skillful and who
can make beautiful graffiti. This could be really beautiful and helpful for improving children’s
abilities and their talents.
Finally, I want to say that it isn’t everything. There are a lot of things but I think that we could
start with these ones. We could collaborate with other countries and to succeed in our national
development.
I really want a country without corruption. I want a country where everyone is equal. I want a
country where people could work not because they have to but that they want to because they
enjoy performing their work every day and they are proud of their results. I want a beautiful
future for Moldova!
