Every singer would love to perform at the biggest opera houses and travel to the most

exotic locations. But, the venues are a sweet embellishment of the real substance which is the
ability to perform and share my craft. Cultivating my voice and learning to expand my abilities
in depth are opportunities for which I am extremely grateful and look forward to growing daily.
If accepted to Boston Conservatory I would take advantage of all the conservatory’s offerings.
Through the study of music, I can develop my sound and mature as an artist in order to convey
the immense emotions demanded of operatic stories. I would like to go on to become an opera
singer and perform in venues around the world to share the beauty of music. I also aspire to teach
both private lessons and ensembles and share what I have learned throughout my personal
musical journey. Through my voice, I am creating a world that others can step into and
experience with me.
At Boston Conservatory, students and faculty support each other at a prestigious
conservatory immersed in a very creative city. Boston is an energetic, youthful, and academic
environment. The vibrant urban setting adds a dimension of sophistication and opportunity for
professional development and entertainment. Boston Conservatory gives exposure to one of the
best opera companies and symphonies in the world.
The conservatory stresses the importance of giving back to the community and educating
those around them with the gift of classical music. Community performances and classes are
opportunities that resonate with me as I currently entertain seniors in a local assisted living
center. I would be part of a cast that is important for social and professional development.
Having been in a chorus I learned valuable lessons and found a type of satisfaction different but
equally enjoyable to solo efforts. In order to be a musical artist, it is vital to work well with
others.
One has exposure to a variety of experiences: choruses, opera studio, and private voice
lessons. Since Boston Conservatory draws students from around the world, I will learn about
diverse cultures and the role of music in those places. I look forward to growing as an individual
and as an artist within a vibrant musical community. I hope to acquire knowledge in all aspects
of musicianship: performance, history, theoretical analysis, diction, and related disciplines. I am
very excited about the potential opportunity to study at the Boston Conservatory.
