Solid State Design for Superior Reliability and Performance
IMX i2410 uses solid state NAND flash storage for superior reliability and performance. Solid state
servers generate up to 80% less heat than servers with hard drive. For IPTV operators, it means
there is no longer a need to deploy large number of servers with hard drives that have moving
parts.
Convert IP Video Encoder Live TV Streams to Internet XMS Streaming
IMX i2410 live XMS streaming server is designed to take live streams that has been encoded by
video encoders such as the IMX E4010 and convert the stream to XMS format to stream over the
Internet. With the revolutionary MatrixStream XMS streaming technology, any IPTV service
providers can now offer streaming DVD and HD quality videos directly to TVs and PCs without
having access to IP networks with QoS (Quality of Service). The patent-pending XMS streaming
protocol is far superior to the limited PC streaming videos currently available on the Internet.
Viewers will not have to endure poor quality videos in small tiny viewing screens. Instead, viewers
can now view full screen high quality videos right on their PCs using the MatrixStream MX 1100
viewer or TVs via their MatrixStream MX 1 IP set top boxes. The IMX v2420 servers works with IMX
i2410 live XMS streaming severs to support both VOD and live TV XMS streaming over the Internet.
Supports SD and HD Streaming Over the Internet
Each IMX i2410 can support up to 1,000 concurrent video streams based on specifications. The
table below is a summary of number of simultaneous streams supported each server:
- up to maximum 1000* SD/EDTV streams @500 kbps
- up to 250* 720p HDTV streams @ 2 mbps
- up to 200* 1080i HDTV streams @ 2.5 mbps
- up to 142* 1080p HDTV streams @ 3.5 mbps
*Based on viewing ration of 10:1, maximum number of viewers supported per server is 10 times
maximum number of concurrent streams. At average stream size of 500 kbps, each server can
potentially server up to 10,000 viewers.
N+1 Cluster Support
IMX i2410 supports N+1 clustering support for redundancy and expandability. To double
maximum number of concurrent streams and users supported, simply add another imx i2410
server. Each server also backs the other sever in case of failure.
Full Home Theater Experience Over the Internet
The IMX i2410 supports SD/HD video streaming and AC 3/AAC multichannel 5.1 digital sound.
Easy to Deploy with Full Security
The MatrixStream XMS streaming solution is easy to deploy over existing IP networks. XMS
streaming protocol is firewall and NAT friendly. At the same time, IMX XMS streaming solution
comes with built-in XMS encryption protocol to protect video streams and supports full conditional
access. With additional integration, the XMS streaming system is capable of supporting 3rd party
DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems.

Server Management

IMX i2410 XMS live streaming server is managed through either the IMX M500 or the IMX M2200 middleware server. Operators manage IMX i2410 servers through
middleware server’s built-in Web-based interface. Operators can manage each live channel and program each channel’s unique address through MatrixStream’s IPTV backend
management system.

Content Security Each stream is protected by the built-in XMS encryption protocol. Additionally, 3rd party DRM (Digital Rights Management) system can be supported wtih non-recurring
engineering fee.

Video/Sound Codecs The IMX i2410 supports the following H.264 and MPEG 4 Part 10 video codec and AC3/AAC multichannel 5.1 digital sound via XMS streaming protocol.

Video Bit Rate IMX i2410 XMS streaming server can stream the following video formats: D1 resolution at 720x480, 720P at 1280x720P, 1080i at 1920 x 525i and 1080P at 1920x1080P.

Stream Ingest The ingest port on the IMX i2410 can accept multiple streams based on specifications. IMX i2410 can accept up to maximum 1000* SD/EDTV streams @500 kbps, up to 250*
720p HDTV streams @ 2 mbps, up to 200* 1080i HDTV streams @ 2.5 mbps and up to 142* 1080p HDTV streams @ 3.5 mbps.

High Performance Xeon-based Intel processors with hyperthreading support ensure fast processing of content delivery.

Redundancy and IMX i2410 XMS streaming servers support N+1 clustering for expandability and redundancy. Each IMX i2410 XMS streaming server can support up to maximum 1,000
Expandability concurrent live streams with average stream size of 500 kbps. Operator can increase number of concurrently streams linearly just by adding another IMX i2410. For example,
two IMX i2410 can support up to 2,000 concurrent streams with average stream size of 500 kbps.

Maximum Viewers Based on the 10:1 viewing ratio, operators can support on average 10 times the maximum number of streams the number of users per server. For example, if an IMX i2410 can
stream 1,000 500 kbps streams, then total number of users per server supported can be up to 10,000 (1,000 x 10).

Video Encoders The IMX i2410 Live XMS streaming server is designed to work with MatrixStream’s IMX E4010 H.264 live encoder. Each encoder can support live encoding of 1 live TV channel
from an external source such as satellite or cable. Integratuon with other 3rd party encoders that support MPEG 2 TS streams might require additional engineering and
non-recurring engineering fee.

IMX IPTV System IMX i2410 XMS live streaming server is designed to work seamlessly with rest of the IMX IPTV products. With N+1 cluster capability, the IMX IPTV system can support up to as
many viewers as the broadband network is capable of supporting. In addition, the IMX XMS IPTV system gives operator total flexibility where they can deploy the IPTV
system either over a private IP network with or without QoS or over the Internet.
