It is the process of presenting information from an original source in your own words.
Reread the original passage until you understand its full meaning.
Set the original aside and write your paraphrase in a separate paper.
Jot down a few words below your paraphrase to remind you of how you envision using
this material.
Steps in Paraphrasing
Check your rendition with the original to see if you have properly restated the essential
information.
Use quotation marks to identify any unique term or phraseology you have borrowed
exactly from the source.
Record the source on your statement so you can credit it easily if you put it in your
paper.

Direction: Read the following original text and rewrite it in your own words. Please

1. It is said that “student life is golden life,” because student life is the most important part
of human life.
2. It is the period of pure joy and happiness, because the mind of a student is free from
cares and worries of a grown-up life.
3. Every student should try his best to make the best use of his student life.
