June 25 (Thursday)
Departure from the U.S.A.
June 26 (Friday)
Arrival in MADRID.
June 26-28 (Friday-Sunday)
Tour: Madrid and Toledo. The group will be accompanied by CIDE Program professors. Travel expenses, tickets to
museums, hotel and meals included.
June 28 (Sunday)
Arrival in Bilbao (around 8:00 p.m.).
June 29 (Monday)
9:00 a.m. Group meets at the University of Deusto. Information desk area, main entrance (by
revolving doors). Families will guide students to the University. A CIDE representative will
guide dorm residents to the University.
9:00-9:30 a.m. Official welcome. Room: Auditorium
9:30-10:30 a.m. Spanish Language Placement Test. Room: TBA.
10:40 -12:30 p.m. First orientation session: Bilbao and University of Deusto. Room: Auditorium.
12:30 p.m. Group lunch.
1:30 p.m. (approx) Visit to the city center to help students find their way around.
June 30 (Tuesday)
9:00 a.m. Group meets at the University of Deusto. Information desk area, main entrance (by
revolving doors).
9:00-10:00 p.m. Tour: University of Deusto.
10:15 a.m. Academic orientation session. Room: TBA.
12:00 p.m. Departure of bus for Plentzia excursion. Lunch included.
July 1 (Wednesday)
9:00 a.m. Distribution of students in Spanish language courses. Room: TBA.
10:00 a.m. Classes start.
July 4 (Saturday)
Visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Meeting place: by Puppy, the big flower dog at the museum entrance.
July 6 (Monday)
By 2.00 pm Deadline: Official registration. It is mandatory for all students to complete their registration
online.
July 7 (Tuesday)
10:50 a.m. Briefing on Pamplona and San Sebastián Tour. Room: TBA.
It is mandatory for all students to attend this meeting.
July 8 (Wednesday)
Excursion to San Fermín Festival in Pamplona, and San Sebastián. Meeting place and time TBA.
* All students will need to sign a document where they will agree to comply with the rules established by the Program for this excursion.
July 11 (Saturday)
Excursion to historical renowned sites: House of Government at Gernika, and Urdaibai estuary.
Meeting place and time: TBA
July 29 (Wednesday)
In the morning: Final exams. (exam schedule: TBA)
In the evening: Closing ceremony. End of the Program. Room: Auditorium. * PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW
July 30 (Thursday)
Last day for students to leave the Residence Hall or family.

 The cultural visits/excursions included in this Program Calendar are mandatory for students taking Culture and Politics in Contemporary
Spain.
 If you wish to plan other visits on your own ahead of time, we recommend you contact the CIDE office in order to confirm the dates shown
in this calendar, since they are tentative (please notice beginning and end dates are final).
 The Program ends in Bilbao.
 Final exam dates are official and cannot be changed. Please bear this in mind when planning your stay and when making reservations
for trips.
 Please do not schedule your departure prior to July 30th. Departures after July 30th need to be notified to and approved by the CIDE
office.
