COMMITTEE FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF HIGH-RISE BUILDING . CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ANNEX I TO GUIDELINE I EXTERNAL INSPECTION ENGINEER (4:12.2003) General Requirements 1, The external inspection engineer shall be a qualified engineer of an inspection engineering group which is registered with CQHP for inspection works in the projects. 2. The minimum number of engineers in the group should be 3. 3. The minimum qualification’ of the leader of the group shall be in accordance with the minimum qualification requirements shown in Guideline 1(B). 4. The minimum qualification for the members in the group shall be as follows: Category A: BE (Civil) with minimum 6 years of related experience Category B: BE (Civil) with minimum 4 years of related experience Category C: BE (Civil) with minimum 3 years of related experience Duties and Responsibilities: 1, The external inspection engineer must check before concreting all the rebars, formworks etc. as mentioned in the check list of Guideline II to see whether the works done are according to the structural drawings. He / She must fill the forms of check lists and sign on it. ‘The external inspection engineer niust be at the site during conereting and check the works of quality control. He / She has to advise the site‘engineers on the measures that should be taken to meet the requirements of CQHP Guidelines IV and -V. t 3. The inspection engineeting group has to submit the results of inspection and monthly reports to CQHP. MAES 6 COMMITTEE FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF HIGH-RISE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ANNEX (I) TO GUIDELINE II NUMBER OF BORE HOLES AND DEPTH OF BORING (20-11-2003 ) 5 A. Number of Bore Holes For average soil and terrain conditions, 1. Up to 10,000 £2, minimum no. of bore holes shall be one bore hole / 2500 ft” of projected building area but not less than 2 holes. 2. If the projected area is more than 10,000.ft, (a) for the first 10,000 £7, follow Rule 1. (b) for additional area, no. of additional bore holes shall be one bore hole/5,000 f? of projected building area. For irregular soil and terrain conditions, no. of additional bore holes will be decided through consultation between structural engineer and geotechnical consultant, B. Depth of Boring 1, For shallow foundations, At least 1.5 times lesser dimension, but not less than 30 ft. If the depth given by the above guideline is more than the capability of the boring machine or for special conditions, consult the structural engineer. 2. For deep foundations, Use the following equation to determine the minimum depth of boring: Z=15 S°7(f), where S istheno, of stcreys including basement. However, boring shall not be terminated until minimum SPT value for the last three consecutive levels is 40. “ COMMITTEE FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF HIGH-RISE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ANNEX If TO GUIDELINE IL Geotechnical report shall include liquefaction analysis by using any acceptable methods, one of which is stated below. ONE METHOD OF LIQUEFACTION ANALYSIS (4.12.2003) ‘The Method of Analysis is as follows: Step 1: The first step is to determine the Seismic Shear Stress Ratio (SSR).SSR induced by the earthquake at any point in the ground is estimated by SSR = 065s (amex) ( Sy ) g 6 v0 in which @ max = peak acceleration measured or estimated at the ground surface of the site( m/s”). g = acceleration of gravity (9.81 m/s”) 6 vo = total vertical stress at a particular depth, where the liquefaction analysis is being performed =f XZ © vo = vertical effective stress at that same depth where 6 yo was calculated = (Tat -Tw) Z Tw = saturated unit weight of the soil ty = unit weight of water lepth reduction factor 1-(0.012) (@) 14 N = depth in meters below the ground surface where the liquefaction analysis is performed.
