LESSON PLAN
Subject: ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Describe the Link between Planning and Controlling.
b. Value the Importance of Linking Planning and Controlling.
c. Portray the Link between Planning and Controlling.

II. SUBJECT MATTER: The Link between Planning and Controlling.

Materials: laptop, projector

III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE

 Activity : (10 minutes) Relationship Goals

1. The teacher will group the students into two.

2. The teacher will conduct a role playing to each of the group. Each group will portray
2 situations.

 Situations:
A. You and your group will go to an outreach program to distribute cupcakes to the children
in the orphanage. What are the things that you will do?
B. After doing the cupcake distribution, you found out that the cupcakes were not enough
for the children in the orphanage. What are you going to do?

 Analysis

How did you find the activity?

What can you say about what you have portrayed?
Can you cite the interrelationship between the 2 situations that your groups have portrayed?

 Abstraction

LINK BETWEEN PLANNING AND CONTROLLING

Planning and controlling are two separate functions of management, yet they are closely related
Therefore, planning and controlling reinforce each other. According to Billy Goetz, “Relationship
between the two can be summarized in the following points

1. Planning proceeds controlling and controlling succeeds planning.

2. Planning and controlling are inseparable functions of management.
3. Activities are put on rails by planning and they are kept at right place through controlling.
4. The process of planning and controlling works on Systems Approach which is as follows :

Planning → Results → Corrective Action

APPLICATION/ DRILL

1. The students will be given a piece of paper.

2. The students will write at least one idea why linking planning and controlling is important

ASSESSMENT

1. Planning a Business is always important.

2. When planning a business, you do not need to organize your objectives and goals.

4. In doing business, you can do planning without thinking about controlling.
