Catching the heart of a lady

I. Lesson: Traditional Practices of Courtship in the Philippines (Ilocos and Tagalog region,
Batangas, Kalinga, Visayas)

II. Lesson Objective:


At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Know the [(4) four places] Traditional practices of courtship in the Philippines;
2. Construct a graphic organizer showing the comparison and contrast of the (4 places)
Traditional practices of courtship in the Philippines.
III. Target Learners: Grade 8
IV. Time Allotment: 20-30 minutes
V. Preparation: Distribute the handouts and graphic organizer to the student.
VI. Materials:
 Videos about (four places) Traditional practices of courtship in the philippines
 Handouts/ literature
 Boxes
 Chalk
 Board
 Laptop
 Speaker
VII. Lesson Proper:
A. Pre- Reading
1. Show videos of the (four places) traditional practices of courtship.
2. Ask two students to share their ideas about the videos
B. During Reading
1. I will let them do the jigsaw cl activity.
2. Group the student into four (4) according to the literature they are handling.
3. Tell the student to read their handouts (10 minutes)
4. Each member will meet the other member of the group that is similar to the
handouts they are handling and discuss and share what they know about the
literature.
5. Go back to the original group.
C. Post Reading
1. Tell the student to answer the graphic organizer.
2. I will let each member of the group to count 1 to 4.
3. I will ask some student a question about our topic. Using the number heads
together.
VIII. Assignment;
1. Tell the student to do an Advance reading about the next. The engagement and married.

I. Lesson:
Rondalla Music Instrument

II. Lesson Objective:


At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Identify the different instrument of rondalla music;
2. Play a song using one of the instruments of Rondalla music;
3. Appreciate the important of Rondalla music instrument.

III. Target Learners: Grade 7


IV. Time Allotment: 20-30 minutes
V. Preparation:
1. Prepare the laptop for the presentation of the videoclip.
2. Prepare the graphic organizer and the literature that will be distribute to the class.
VI. Materials:
 Handouts/ literature
 Boxes
 Chalk
 Board
 Laptop
 Speaker
 Video clip (performance of rondalla music)
VII. Lesson Proper:
A. Pre- Reading
1. Play a video clip of example of Rondalla music
2. I will distribute a graphic organizer to the class.
3. Let the student list down the different instrument of rondalla music using the
graphic organizer
4. Choose at least 3-4 students randomly to share what they wrote on their paper.
B. During Reading
1. Present the topic to the class
2. Distribute the literature containing the different rondalla instruments.
3. I will group the students into 5 according to the literature they are handling.
4. I will let them do the jigsaw cl activity.
C. Post Reading
1. After the activity. I will let each member of the group to count 1 to 5.
2. I will ask some question about the topic using the Number Heads together.
VIII. Assignment:
Tell the student to do search about the next topic and do an advance reading about the
next topic and answer the following questions.
1. What is tultugan?
2. What is balitaw?
