Discuss the following:
How would you determine the credibility of information you get from the web? Does the source of
information make any difference to you? If so, how would you rank the reliability of each of the
following sources of web pages? Does the type of information you’re seeking affect the ranking?

 Establishment newspaper
 Counterculture newspaper
 Television network
 Corporation
 Non-profit Organization
 Individual

The credibility of the information that is from the web depends on the site wherein the
information was collected. Not every site is reliable compared to others because other site spreads
fake news, it is necessary to verify the information and gather more data to prove that the
information on that website was true.

The ranking of the reliability of each of the sources from the scale of 1 to 6, 1 being the highest
and 6 being the lowest in terms of reliability. The most reliable or 1st is the Non-profit Organization,
why? Non-profit organizations work in a way that they can help other people rather than gathering
profits in doing something, 2nd is the Television Network, although some networks provides bias
information, there are others that still spreads information that is the truth, 3rd is the Corporation,
they provides information that can be accepted by others, and 4th is the Establishment newspaper,
newspapers are kind of bias nowadays because of the writers, 5th is the Counterculture newspaper
and lastly 6th, is an Individual, depends on the point of view of others, an individual can be a good
source of information but majority of them was prone to mislead others, and often confused with
opinions of others, sometimes the information that is passed on will not be the same if passed on
onto others, also the type of information that a person is seeking affects the ranking because
sometimes, if you look for a specific thing, you will know that Television will be the best source of
information, or for an incident that happened in your nephews , it will be good if you ask your
nephew about the accident for not to be mislead by other people who provides bias information
