Charge-in case: A Development of Emergency Smart Phone Charger

using 9 volt battery

Introduction

In today’s world, technology brought a huge impact to the modern society and
some of them can’t live without their smart phones. They adore the fact that in one tap,
they can access their needs conveniently in the web or not. Hence, it must be full
charge in order to use it efficiently.

Recharging phones is one of the problems of the people who use it in their daily
lives. It’s hard to find outlets to charge phone in crisis especially if there is no electricity
in their vicinity. Yes, there are power banks which are present in the market already.
However, if a person forgot to charge it, it will be useless. But there are batteries that
are ready for use to recharge their phones easily.

The researchers chose to engage in the field of technology since the lives of
today’s generation depends on it. To be specific, they will focus on the domain of mobile
phones which the researchers will deal with another way of charging smart phones.
They aim to make a charger in which the people can use it for emergency purposes.
The researchers will explore other way of recharging a phone urgently. They will try to
combine some things that can easily found at home and at stores in recharging a
phone. In case of emergency, it is a huge problem to reenergize a phone especially if
the power banks don’t also have the enough energy to charge it. Thus, there is another
way to recharge mobile phones without outlets and power banks that can use in the
midst of any catastrophe which this research aims to unveil and help all of the smart
phone users around the globe.

Method

The researchers develop an “Charge-in case” or an emergency smart phone

charger. This can be used in any unexpected situation like if the phone or power bank
has a low battery, this can work on Android, iOS phones or in any gadgets that has a
USB cord. This charger is powered by a 9 volt battery; we choose to use this kind of
battery because it has a longer life than the normal double a (AA) battery. Also, this
battery can purchase it on any nearest convenience store so that anybody can have
that battery as a reserve in case of emergency.
Collecting of Materials

First you need to gather all the materials that you need to make a
"Charge-in case". Go to the nearest convenience, electronics and hardware stores to
buy 9 volts battery connector, 9 volt battery, Glue stick, Cutter, Soldering iron, Driller
(optional), Glue gun (optional). And at home, an empty ointment round case and an
unused car charger will do.

When most people carry a smartphone, tablet, GPS unit, or

other USB-powered device in the car, meaning that if you
drive it's worth having a dedicated USB charger that plugs
into your car's 12-volt accessory outlet (the “cigarette
lighter,” for older folks). The USB port for the product will
come from this charger.

From the various ointments they have at home, this will be

the case where the USB port located of the innovative
charger.

It is a hand drill which is a fastening tool used to secure

screws or bolts. It can also be used with a drill bit to tighten
fasteners, and can be used with stirring attachments to mix
paint and joint and other liquid materials, such as glazing
materials for ceramics. This is needed to produce two holes
at the back of container to have a passage to the wires.

This holds the same amount of charge as 6 AA batteries,

making it a much more powerful battery for Walkie-talkies
and handheld talk radios. These batteries are used to
transmit the signals between the two devices, while
simultaneously powering the microphone and speakers. It
will be the energy source of the charger.
 It is a tool used for melting solder and applying it to metals
that are to be joined. This will make the wires connected to
the USB port.

This is the easiest material to find, which will cut the

ointment container where the USB port was placed.

With glue sticks, it is used to bond shoe soles, though they

are applicable to various other projects and materials.
They are used to apply glue to delicate cloth fabrics and to
denser materials, including wood. This will attach the USB
port to the ointment container as well as the other
materials.

It is a connector to 9 volt batteries. This will able to connect

or pass the energy of the battery to charge a phone.

Procedure:

First get the car charger and detach the USB port and then cut the wire on the
battery connector and peel off the end of the wire before connecting it to the USB port.
Next get the empty container and make sure that the container is clean, cut the side of
the container for the USB port and make two small holes at the bottom by using a driller
for the wire’s passage that is connected to the port earlier. After that, get the battery
connector and install to the other end of the wire that is installed on the USB port. Then
get the 9 volt battery and connect it to the battery connector. Now, if the phone is
connected and it is recharging, the “Charge-in case” was created successfully.
Results

The researchers develop the emergency mobile phone charger using the exact
materials they needed. The innovative product is still in the process of making for 3 to 5
days. If the “Charge-in case’ will be successfully done, it can be used as an alternative
to power banks when the phone’s battery ran out and when emergency arises, there's
no need to use energy to charge your phone when using this product, you will just need
a battery that can be found at home and stores.

Discussion

Nothing in this world is permanent except change. Human beings are always
seeking for change that will help us to improve our life, discoveries and innovation
makes it possible. As the researchers think of what product they will innovate, they did a
lot of researches to be able to produce the idea which will be the most useful product
that can surely have a great contribution in our society. And by doing so many
researches and watching videos, they came up with a clever idea and they called it as
“Charge-in case” because it is on a small case that will provide energy for everybody’s
cellphones in case of emergency and it works almost the same as the power banks do.
This product is easy to assemble and the materials are very simple and easy to find. As
the researchers plan to do this product, they want to use the exact materials needed to
make it function smoothly. This emergency phone charger will provide us energy by
only using battery that can purchase in groceries and other convenience stores. It will
be very convenient for the people because it is handy and it will lessen the use of
electric power by charging in an outlet or power bank. They will think more innovation
for that product to be more efficiently eye catching. Also, they will test this product more
to be able to know its limitation and to make it more useful to the majority of modern
society.
