Spring is just around the


corner..my favorite season!
With just a bit of fabric and
a 12 degree wedge, you can

The Spring Blossom requires the amount yardage
12 degree wedge from A background 6 ½" ¼ yd

B accent 2" ⅛ yd
C petal 11" ⅜ yd
D center 3 ½" ¼ yd
Cutting strips binding ⅜ yd
 or best use of fabric,

follow the diagrams cutting batting 20" sq
in the order shown. backing 21" sq
• Cut strips across the
full fabric width.

Cutting strips
• First sub-cut a 14" wide
section. 3 ½" x 14"
• Cut this into the strips 5 ½" x 28"
shown. scrap
• With the remaining
width (approx 28"),
cut the other strips as
3" x 14" 2" x 28"
shown. scrap

Sewing strip sets
• G
 roup strips according to 1” A
strip set number.
• Sew the strip sets together 1” B
in the order shown.
• Stitch with a short stitch 5 ½” C Cut 5
length, using exact 1/4"
seams.

Cutting wedges
• Apply loops of tape, sticky side out, to the wedge tool to keep it from slipping on your fabric.
• Place the wedge on the strip set, with the ends parallel to the seams.
• Cut five wedges from strip set 1 and 4.
• Cut ten wedges from strip sets 2 and 3. This pattern is not for resale

Making the Flower


• Sew the wedges together
to make the flower.
• Do not press until the
entire circle is assembled.
• Once assembled, press
from the back first, then
from the front side.
• Stabilize the center
opening from the back
with a scrap of freezer
paper.

Center Applique
• Trace the pentagon shape onto freezer paper.
• Make a center applique with fabric D.
• Applique over the center opening.
