Reflection Paper About The Taxation In The Philippines
Taxes are involuntary fees levied on individuals or corporations and enforced
by a government entity whether local, regional or national in order to finance government activities. It is a manner by which authorities make exactions for gross in order to back up their being and carry out their legitimate aims. It is the most permeant and the strongest of all the powers of the authorities. Taxs are the lifeblood of the authorities. Philippines is one of the countries that has a taxation system within its nation. Philippines taxation started during the pre-colonial period (900-1521). Government that time were called “barangays” and the collected tax or tribute was called “buwis” or “handug”. The Philippines taxation system were continuing to evolved from Pre-Colonial period to Spanish period up to until now. It has a lot of history that was way too long to discussed but more importantly we’d come up now with a balance and stable taxation system. The main purpose of the taxation in the Philippines is to provide funds or property with which to promote the general welfare of its citizen and to enable it to finance its multifarious activities. I see taxes as part of almost everything. Love 'em or mostly hate 'em, taxes are an integral part of everyone's life. We tend to focus on the bad tax implications because that's just how we humans roll. Tax policy is essentially a balancing act between efficiency and equity. We want to impose progressive taxes to make society a fairer place to live in. But at the same time, we want to make sure that such taxes do not reduce economic activity so much. So in order for us to achieved our goal we need to follow the rule not just only with the taxation policy but also all the rules that will greatly benefit the economy and the whole country itself. Reflection About The Philippine Constitution
The constitution is a body of fundamental principles or established
precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed. It is the basic principles and laws of a nation, state, or social group that determine the powers and duties of the government and guarantee certain rights to the people in it. Constitutions symbolizes the country’s freedom as well its independence. The foundation of the system of the government of the Philippines is the constitution itself. The Constitution of the Philippines (Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas in Filipino) is the supreme law of the Philippines. The Philippine constitution was started during the 1897 with the purposed of the separation of the Philippines from Spanish monarchy and the start of the Philippine Republic. The Philippine Constitution has evolved since 1897: the 1897 Constitution of Biak-na-Bato, the 1899 Malolos Constitution, Acts of the United States Congress, The 1935 Constitution up to the current 1987 Constitution. There are a lot of things happened that is too long to discussed before we come up with our current constitution. The Philippine Constitution evolved throughout the Philippines History. The purposed of Philippine Constitution is to keep the balance and the stability of government to its state and people. Being a Filipino, it is important for me to express what I feel and need to see in our country and I also wanted my voice to be heard in terms of political and economical issues. It would be nice to live freely and practice sovereignty in your own country. The Philippine Constitution is important because it protects our rights. It enables us to have justice and live a beautiful life. It helps us to know our limitations and the right things we should do in order for us to become a good citizen. We need a constitution because we need a government that will protect our natural rights.
