DEFIBRILATION TRAINING There will be a refresher course on Saturday 9th November for anyone interested in
familiarising themselves with this potentially lifesaving equipment. 10.00 a.m Church hall.

CHURCH CLEANING Will those individuals who clean our beautiful church – please collect their copies of the rota
from the sacristy this weekend. Thank you.
NOVEMBER DEAD LIST Demand for masses was very high last year. Please therefore present your intentions
ASAP and I will endeavour to say mass on the day requested or the nearest available date thereafter.
ENVELOPES AT THE BACK OF CHURCH.

SAMARITAN’S PURSE OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Leaflets are now available and are free, so please take
one. It will advise you what to can and cannot put in the shoeboxes. – Some of the regulations regarding this
have been changed, e.g. Toothpaste and sweets can no longer be included.
Shoeboxes are now ready for purchase at 50p/box. Please take what you need and put monies in collection
dish in the porch. Boxes will need to be filled and returned to church by mid-November. Date to be advised.

FOOD BANK Thank you to everyone who contributed to the food bank, helping the many in our community
who suffer from food poverty. If you don’t, as yet – perhaps one extra item in your weekly shop could be of
such help.

MOUNT ST JOSEPH’S CHRISTMAS FAYRE: All are welcome to attend on Saturday 16th November, 2pm to
4pm. Mount St Joseph’s, Shire Oak Road, Headingley, LS6 2DE.

ST BEDE’S AND ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC COLLEGE REMEMBRANCE DAY MASS: Friday 8th November
2019. We will gather together in the library at Ardor (the former St Bede’s site) at 10.30am. At 10.45am we
will gather at the War Memorial to pay our respects and to lay our Remembrance Day wreaths with the
playing of the Last Post. After Mass we invite you to join us for refreshments where our Sixth Form students

SYCAMORE INTRODUCTION EVENING: Sycamore is an informal course about Catholic faith and its relevance
which can be run in parishes, schools or other settings. The recently-updated sessions allow adults who are
unfamiliar or unengaged with Christianity a chance to ask important questions about faith in a welcoming
atmosphere and can be used as part of initial evangelisation, RCIA, or ongoing formation. Anyone interested
in learning more about the course, and how it could be used in their parish or school, is invited to an
Information Evening at Hinsley Hall from 6.30-8.30 on Thursday 14th October. To confirm a place or for

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE POOR: Caritas Leeds are hosting a day of prayer, discussion and
presentations, with a particular focus on the service of victims of crime, prisoners ex-offenders and their
families. Saturday 16th November, 9.30am – 4pm.

ROTHWELL COMPETITIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL Saturday 2nd November 2019 2.30 p.m Rothwell Methodist
Church. Featuring Chris Irvin Concert Orchestra. An afternoon of easy listening orchestral pieces. Tickets £8
on the door.

APPLE FUND Thank You to all those people who supported the Apple fund. £106.65 was raised and donated
