LESSON OUTLINE:
1. INTRODUCTION : Prayer, Routine Activities and Articulating Learning Objectives (5 mins)
2. MOTIVATION : Writing a 1 liners through a picture prompt (10 mins)
3. INSTRUCTION/DELIVERY : Glimpse to Check! Interactive discussion with engaging activity.
4. PRACTICE : Composing of free-verse poem (5 mins)
5. ENRICHMENT : Aided with their constructed free-verse poem, students are tasked to pick out the words with literal and figurative
meaning and give their definitions respectively base on usage.
6. EVALUATION : Completing the ven diagram (20 mins)

PROCEDURE MEETING LEARNERS’ NEEDS


1. INTRODUCTION (5 MINUTES)

2. MOTIVATION (10 minutes)

1. Each student will write a 1-line “hugot” of the given picture for one (1) minute on a strip of paper. The teacher has the freedom to
change the picture.

2. Afterwards, 2-3 students will be called randomly to share their “hugot” to the class.
3. Two students will read the previous stanza using appropriate emotions and gestures.
4. The teacher will then ask the following questions:
 How did you construct your hugot line? (observe the structure of the stanza)
 What prompted you to express your emotions in your hugot line?
3. INSTRUCTION/DELIVERY (50 minutes)

1. The students’ responses will now lead to the discovery of the new lesson. Moreover, the
teacher will also explain how the use of a word affects in inferring the meaning of the text
2. The teacher will then present the genres of words and language.
3. Glimpse to Check!
Instructions:
a. Students will be grouped into four (4). Each group is given three (3) sets of pictures bearing
its literal and figurative meaning.
b. Each group are given two minutes to match the picture to its meaning. The first group who will
accomplish the task will be the winner.
4. Once the activity is done, the teacher will give a brief discussion as a wrap up.

Instruction: Compose a free-verse poem observing creativity; language use that bears its literal and
figurative meaning and the clarity & organization of thoughts. The student’s output is graded using the
following:
