4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity The teacher will post the lyric of the action song on the board entitles ‘’ I’m alive, alert, awake,
enthusiastic’’And let the students participates together after palyig the action song.

4.2 Activity
The teacher will group the students t the students into two and arrange the scrambled pictures
to make it as a whole.Afterwards, the group will choose atleast. one representative to discuss
(for only 2 minutes)of what was the picture all about.The first group to finish can receive a
reward afterwards.

At this part the students gather information regarding the harmful effets of smoking cigarettes.

The Dangers of Cigarette Smoking

SMOKING  is a practice in which a substance is burned and the resulting smoke breathed in
to be tasted and absorbed into the bloodstream  Most commonly the substance is the dried
leaves of the tobacco plant which have been rolled into a small square of rice paper to create a
small, round cylinder called a "cigarette".

TOBACCO  is a tall, leafy plant, originally grown in south and central America, but now
cultivated throughout the world

CIGARETTE  a thin cylinder of finely-cut tobacco rolled in paper for smokingdangers of

4.4 Abstraction
HIGHBLOOD PRESSURE  too much exertion of blood against the arteries causing damage

HEART DISEASE  involves the cardiovascular syste

BAD BREATH  foul smell exhaled from the mouth

BRONCHITIS  inflammation of the airways from the trachea into the lungs

EMPHYSEMA  damaged air sacs in the lung

PNEUMONIA  infection of the lungs

ASTHMA  a chronic disease which affects the airways

CANCER  a group of diseases which makes body cells grow uncontrollably

MAINSTREAM SMOKE  refers specially to the smoke that a smoker directly inhales

SIDESTREAM SMOKE  the smoke that comes out of the lighted end of a cigarette or pipe 
is also called second-hand smoke (SHS) or environmental tobacco smoke (ETS)  is more
dangerous than mainstream smoke

THIRD-HAND SMOKE  smoke left for a long time on sofa, beddings, pillow and other objects
 is also called residual tobacco smoke (RTS)  settles along with dust and can last for months
 still contains harmful chemicals and carcinogens.

SOME REASONS:  Young people are attracted to the image  Because their

friends and family are smokers 

4.5 Application The teacher will divide the class into four(4).The learners will play a game called “Game ka na
ba?”The first group who knows the answer after the teacher read the questions can request
their representative to the botton .And he/she may answer right away.The more answers they
could get,the more points they could earn.
