Dear Students,
In units 2 and 3, you will make a video about living abroad.
Step 1:
a. Do exercises from Practice Resources – Units 2 and 3 on Blackboard.
b. Re-read this article: “The wonderful experience of living abroad” from Practice resources
file in Unit 2 on Blackboard.
Step 2:
Now, think about your answer to these questions:
Do you agree with what the writer, Emma Douty, says in the article?
Do you see yourself living abroad some day? Why?
In which country do you think you could live? Why?
What are the pros and the cons of being away from home?
What would you miss the most if you lived/studied/worked aborad?
How do you think you could personally benefit from living abroad?
Tell us about someone you know who has lived/worked/studied abroad.
Step 3:
Get ready to record a video. In the video, you will tell us your answers to the questions
above about living abroad.
Step 4:
Stand in front of the camera and record your video telling us about living abroad. Explain.
Give details.
Practice several times before recording the final version of your video. Do not forget to look at
the camera when you speak. Don’t just read.
Here are some things to keep in mind while recording your video:
Don’t forget to use vocabulary and grammar structures studied in Units 2 and 3:
present perfect simple: affirmative and negative
present perfect progressive: affirmative and negative
time expressions: for, since, already, yet, just
vocabulary about study abroad
Your video should last about 1 minute or 1 minute and a half (1’-1’30).
Use youtube.com to make the video. Test your video works well before sending the link.
Change video privacy setting to “Public” so your teacher can view it.
You can also use any other software to make your video.
You have to paste the link of your video and the script (the script is referential) in the
Assignment section (“actividad” in Unit 3 file) on Blackboard. Use the template below
(See page 3).
Do not forget to look at the camera when you speak.
