- It is not during the fast where the most difficult circumstances occur. After the fast is when
temptation comes. Some opposition during the fast is normal, including an influx of dreams or
desires where you see the spiritual order of your life, which will be unpleasant. Job 33: 15-18
- Luke 4:1 Jesus is filled with the Holy Ghost, an invisible being = spirit. Returned from Jordan and
was LED by the spirit. This applies to you and I, we are led by spirits. If it is a spirit of lust, bitterness,
etc. it is that something is leading you.
• The task of these spirits is to trick you and make sure you think that the thoughts are your
own.
• Here we see the scripture is giving us insight into the entities that play roles in the decisions
that we make.
• Speak to the spirits and shut them down. Luke 10:19 The power to tread. So use it!
• Your scripture is your weapon Jer. 23:29 and when you speak the word of God, the invisible
realm MUST conform to that word. So we must rise up and be soldiers of the Lord.
- After you fast you now have to come against the very spirits you came against and started to break
off in the fast. Those entities aren’t going to sit back and give you your life back without putting
pressure on you. This is why the dreams and temptations saturate you during the fast. Now you’ve
entered the realm of the spirit to see their spiritual environment.
• You can be in the church for so long, hearing terms like “Holy Ghost, demon, angel spirit,
entity” and it has lost its meaning. But it is important to realize that we are talking about
invisible spirits that around us all the time. Their power lies in the ignorance of mankind and
they seek out people who are ignorant of the law and reject the teachings on witchcraft and
voodoo, etc. So if they can make you think it is fake, they get the upper hand to manipulate
you into making covenants with them and thinking you have personality traits which you do
not in fact possess as a child of God in Christ – or should not possess.
• Going back to Luke 4:1 when he was tempted over the 40 days; this is what happens to us.
And when we see things in dreams like having sex, or eating, being fed, flying, accepting
money, signing paperwork, any type of interaction where we come into agreement– these
are the evil spirits attempting to get you back into covenant with them
• (Is. 15:6) four things happening in a fast.
1. Break the bonds of heaviness – this is an upgrade in spiritual warfare to make them
move away from you.
2. Hell breaks loose after the fast. Which is a good thing. Because nobody beats a dead
horse!
So after you break them off they want to trick you into thinking that nothing
happened or shifted during the fast. We see, after Jesus stopped the fast in Luke 4:3,
He was hungry and the devil said (in his mind – not that the devil was standing there)
“If thou be the son of God, command this stone that it be bread.” This statement is
about a covenant, as the spiritual world is all about the covenant. If this, then do this.
If Jesus, the physical man would have done this, he would have been coming into
agreement with the spirit forming a covenant.

3. Every time Jesus responds with “IT IS WRITTEN:…”Always retort with the Supreme
law of the Lord! * Spirit of poverty is bombarding you, for example. Speak back with a
Scripture and keep hitting them until they go in silence!
*Note – Numbers 22 and 23, Balak summons Balam the witch doctor. The spirits
were not able to go down into the valley to attack the children of Israel “because the
Lord has found no iniquity in them.” Iniquity = the abuse of sin
~ They then plotted to have the women seduce the men of Israel and THEN a plague
broke out.
~ The fuel of these spirits dominating your life is the sin in your life or the
generational curse that need to be revoked by you
• Note that the Word of God (Heb. 4:12) is a double-edged sword will cut asunder of
soul and spirit – this INCLUDES cutting off the evil spirits with the Word. Every time
you speak the Word of God you are wielding the Sword in the spiritual realm! THIS IS
OUR POWER. QUOTING THE WORD OF GOD CUTS THE SPIRITS UP.
- Paul said he was not ashamed of the gospel because of it’s POWER.
- So in Luke, Jesus puts him in his rightful place and uses the Sword of the Word and
then says “Get the Behind me, Satan!” If we don’t know what else to say, we can say
this.
4. Start collecting the Scriptures you know and memorizing them. What are the
Scriptures you can hold onto no matter what comes against you? In addition to
using God-given authority to subject evil spirits, we are also growing and
strengthening the pre-frontal cortex of our brain, according to numerous scientific
studies.
• This is the judgement part of our brain which also controls
compassion, empathy, emotions, and is the executive center. So,
memory is boosted, and the brain grows by meditating and
memorizing Scripture.
• Also, we cannot take thoughts captive, witness properly, or make
decisions without having God’s word inside us. Memorize one verse a
week! In two years, this will be over 200 ways to wield the Sword of
the Lord.
~ 2 Tim 2:15 Recall, we are to study and show ourselves approved. One can have an
all-consuming relationship following the Lord Jesus in intimacy, moment by moment,
or one can have a relationship the religion of Christianity – reading the Bible, going
to church once a week and never putting it into practice. We are called to love the
Lord with ALL we are. Matt 22:37
We can’t love the Lord with all if we can’t even remember what said.
~ We can’t claim the promises if we don’t know what they are.

• Prov. 11:9 Through KNOWLEDGE shall the just be delivered. With all this knowledge,
understand that the enemy will now come with different tactics against the more studied
soldier of spiritual warfare. Instead of only regular temptations, Satan will now use Scripture
against you! In Luke 4:10, He now quotes Psalms and asks Jesus to throw Himself down.

- Here you continue to say NO, using Scripture. Because you understand that anything other
than a NO used towards the devil is a YES. Amos 3:3 says, “Do two walk together unless they
have agreed to do so?”
So, any YES to the devil, no matter how big or small the perceived sin is, is in fact a covenant
that gives him legal ground to disturb your life.
Jesus once again quotes Scripture to diffuse him.
• So after the fast, the bills will get worse, fights will occur, troubles will happen because the
adversary attempts to gain ground again. As Jesus did, the Scriptures must be used.
• When one is tired from battle, complaining cannot be entertained. Instead the solution is to
praise the Lord and start claiming the promises of GOD.
- COME INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE POSTIVE SCRIPTURES OF GOD. Prov. 11:21 The
righteous shall be recompensed. This means that after all this commotion, recompense waits
for you. We are made righteous by the belief in Jesus according to Romans 8:30-31 We are
justified and glorified in the Lord. Refuse to entertain any other type of thoughts because
this is agreement with the devil!
- You have every right to say, “I reject you, I renounce you, I rebuke you, I commit myself to
the Scripture, shut your mouth devil, in the name of Jesus.” We must come against with our
words!
- Example, when evil thoughts come in, we can say:
Eph. 3:20 God says he will do exceedingly and more abundantly more than I could ever
conceive, so begone you lying devil!
• We do not focus on the negative. We must keep quoting God’s promises and claiming them.
“Father, I refuse to agree with the devil here. Your promises say xyz…”
• ANYTHING CONTRARY TO THE LORD’S WORD MUST BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. WE DO
NOT ENTERTAIN IT. WE ONLY FOCUS ON THE TRUTH OF HIS SCRIPTURES.
- What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against
us? Rom 8:31
- And when the devil had finished his tempting, he departed from Jesus FOR A SEASON. But it won’t
matter because you will be stronger in the Word and ready for battle. Those who hope in the Lord
will have renewed strength, soar, run and walk without fatigue. Is. 40:31 It will be a victorious
pleasure to whip the devil!
-Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or persecution, or famine,
or nakedness, or danger, or sword…NO, in ALL these things we are MORE than conquerors through
Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels, nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus or Lord. Rom
8:35-37
- There is no temptation we have that is not common, but the Lord has already provided us a way to
overcome. 1 Cor. 10:13
Summary:
• Temptations and trials increase after the fast when the demons seek reinstatement of
covenants.
• Respond to attacks with The Word of God; Follow Jesus’ blueprint in Luke 4

• If you aren't saying “NO" to the enemy, you're saying “yes.”

• Put on a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Declare God’s promises.
• Keep going, and be victorious for Christ has already won! (Is. 63:1“It is I, proclaiming
victory, mighty to save.”
