Bajaj Motorcycles gets a Meager Price Hike

Bajaj Auto have raised the motorcycle’s prices and the rise varies from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2000 depending
upon the city and the motorcycle model

Bajaj motorcycles have received an upsurge in their prices recently.Bajaj has increased the
prices of almost all their motorcycles and buyers will now have to pay Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000
more over the earlier prices depending upon the city and the motorcycle model you are
purchasing. The NEW prices have been updated on Bajaj’s official website and we think the
price hike might be because of the increasing prices of raw materials and cycle parts.
The Dominar 400 has been hiked the second time this year; first time the motorcycle had
seen a hike of Rs 2K earlier this year and now receives a hike of Rs 1,000. In spite of the
minor price hikes, the Dominar 400 still remains the most value for money offering at the
price it is offered at and the features it offers. It is also the most affordable motorcycle to get
a slipper clutch and all-LED lights.
Bajaj retouched the Pulsar line-up while they updated all the motorcycles with BS-IV
complaint engines earlier this year and all the entire Pulsar range now follows Bajaj termed
‘Laser Edged’ graphics language. Avenger is a cruiser range of motorcycles from Bajaj and
the entire range was facelifted two years back. The V15 and V12 takes its roots from India’s
legendary warship – INS Vikrant. Almost all the Bajaj motorcycles offered currently have
received some or the other update in the past few years and hence it’s a good time for future
Bajaj customers to put their valuable money on any of the motorcycle as they will stay in the
same shape for a couple of years to follow.
The updated prices for the motorcycles are as follows (ex-showroom, Delhi) -
Dominar 400 – Rs 1,39,000 (STD), Rs 1,53,001 (ABS)
Pulsar RS 200 – Rs 1,22,881 (STD), Rs 1,34,882 (ABS)
Pulsar NS 200 – Rs 97,452
Pulsar 220F – Rs 92,200

Burt Munro To Be Memorialised At Bonneville.

2017 marks 50 anniversary since the legendary rider from New Zealand set his last world
th

record and his grand nephew will do a special run on a modern Indian Scout to
commemorate his achievement.
Herbert James Munro or popularly known as Burt Munro is a name I am pretty sure most of
the motorcycle enthusiasts have heard of. He was immortalised in the Hollywood flick “The
fastest Indian” and if you haven’t seen this movie yet, well now you know what to do this
weekend. His claim to fame was setting a world record for speed under the 1,000cc class for
Indian bikes that still stands to this day. What made his achievement so special was the fact
that he was 68 year old when his last record was set and he was aboard a 48-year old
machine that took almost 20 years to build.

Munro had set the record on an Indian Scout which had a top speed of just 89mph with a
displacement of 602cc. The Kiwi rider bored the engine to increase its displacement to
850cc and set a speed record of 288mmph for the 883cc class. His last world speed record
was set in 1967 when he clocked 295.45kmph with a 950cc motor. 2017 marks the 50 th

anniversary since Munro achieved the record and to celebrate it, American bikemaker Indian
motorcycle is pairing up with Lee Munro (Burt Munro’s great nephew) to do commemorative
a run at Bonneville salt flats.
Lee Munro will be riding the “Spirit of Munro Sc” which is bases on the Indian Scout
motorcycle and he wouldn’t be competing any specific class. The special run to celebrate
Burt Munro will be done on August 13 and we hope the weather Gods are with the
organisers as last year unseasonal rains cancelled most of the record runs. Lee and the
Indian Motorcycle engineers will be doing test runs in El Mirage, California before heading to
the hallowed Bonneville salt flats.

Unveiled: Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus

The open-top variant of the R8 V10 Plus has been unveiled by Audi and it just might come to
India.

If you worry that no one can see you in your Audi R8 V10 Plus, the German carmaker has
finally come up with a solution. Welcome to the Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus. This is the final
straw of the R8 lineup and it packs the most powerful production-lineup engine from Audi -
the 5.2-litre V10. The R8 Spyder V10 Plus is the fastest production convertible from Audi till
date and the first cars will be delivered in late summer 2017.

Jumping straight to the heart of the matter, the R8 Spider V10 Plus gets the same 5.2-litre
V10 which also powers the Lamborghini Huracan. In the Audi, it produces 610PS of max
power and 560Nm of torque with a redline of a massive 8,700rpm. This power figure is a
jump of 70PS from the Audi R8 Spyder V10. Mated to the 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch
transmission, the engine sends power to all the four wheels via the Quattro permanent all-
wheel drive system. The result is quite simple and fast - 0-100kmph time of 3.3 seconds and
a top speed of 328kmph.These figures, though, slower than the coupe, are 0.3seconds
faster and 10km/h more than the R8 Spyder V10. And for those who care, the R8 Spyder
V10 Plus runs 8 kilometers per litre of fuel.
From the outside, the first thing which strikes you are the vertical slats in the air dams which
follow on from the headlamps. In this micrommata green design package, the R8 Spyder
V10 Plus look gorgeous with carbon-fiber accents all around. The front diffuser; fixed rear
spoiler and the rear diffuser are made out of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP).The
hood takes takes 20 seconds to open or close and this can be done while driving up to a
speed of 50kmph.

There is no clarity whether the spider V10 Plus will come to India or not. Prices for this open-
top Audi in Germany start from 207,500 Euros which is roughly Rs 1.5 crore. But given our
tax structures, of and when the Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus comes to our shores, it will cost
about Rs 3.1 crore.
