The central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer system that carries

out the instructions of a computer program, and is the primary element carrying out
the computer's functions. The central processing unit carries out each instruction of
the program in sequence, to perform the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output
operations of the system. This term has been in use in the computer industry at least
since the early 1960s. [1] The form, design and implementation of CPUs have
changed dramatically since the earliest examples, but their fundamental operation
remains much the same.

Early CPUs were custom-designed as a part of a larger, sometimes one-of-a-kind,

computer. However, this costly method of designing custom CPUs for a particular
application has largely given way to the development of mass-produced processors
that are made for one or many purposes. This standardization trend generally began
in the era of discrete transistor mainframes and minicomputers and has rapidly
accelerated with the popularization of the integrated circuit (IC). The IC has allowed
increasingly complex CPUs to be designed and manufactured to tolerances on the
order of nanometers. Both the miniaturization and standardization of CPUs have
increased the presence of these digital devices in modern life far beyond the limited
application of dedicated computing machines. Modern microprocessors appear in
everything from automobiles to cell phones and children's toys.

the monitor or screen is a visual display unit, often called simply a monitor or display,
is a piece of electrical equipment which displays images generated from the video
output of devices such as computers, without producing permanent record.
Touch Screens
Touch screens are a clear sheet of plastic with tiny sensors that detect pressure from
either a finger tip or a pointing device. When these sensors are pressed, they
perform the functions found with the traditional mouse; single click, double click and
drag.

The computer speaker is an output device which gives the user auditory feedback
regarding the state of the computer. This can be as sophisticated as a 8-channel
surround-sound system for playing movies and the like, or as basic as the integrated
"beeper speaker" whos only role is indicate critical errors in the boot sequence when
video output is not available

. Computer speakers are a way for computers to make sounds by means of digital or
analog audio. The speaker has given the computer a new way to interact with its
users: through sound. There are many different types of speakers for different uses.

Computer Speaker Function

1. Computer speakers function as a novel way for computers to interact with
their users. They provide a means for the computer to produce audio.

the function of a microphone is to take your sound waves and translates it to

appropriate machine readable for and the transmits it as an electrical pulses to the
central processing unit for processing
