3. A two digit number is such that the product of the digits is 18. When 63 is subtracted from

4. A thief runs with a uniform speed of 100 m/min. After 1 minute a policeman runs after the
thief to catch him. He goes with a speed of 100 m/min in the first minute and increases the
his speed by 10 m/min every succeeding minute. After how many minutes the policeman

CHAPTER – 6 TRIANGLES
1. ABC and BDE are two equilaterals such that D is the mid-point of BC. Find the ratio of
the areas of triangles ABC and BDE. (1M)
2. In ∆ABC, ∠BAC = 90º and AD⊥BC . prove that : AB2 +CD2 = BD2+AC2. (2M)

island. P and Q are points directly opposite to each other on two banks and in line with
the tree. If the angles of elevation of the top of the tree from P and Q are respectively
30º and 45º, find the height of the tree. (4M)

1. A letter is chosen at random from the letter of the “word PROBABILITY”. Find the

2. A bag contains 24 marbles, some of which are green and others are blue. A marble is drawn
at random from the bag. If the probability that it is green is 2/3 , then find the number of
