In this research, researchers will be having deeper knowledge about students’


struggles about the subject Mathematics. Researchers all know that Mathematics is one of
the major subjects and also the subject that students have trouble with, so researchers
thought, ‘ why are researchers having a hard time learning mathematics?’ Researchers also
experience all the confusions, miscalculations and misinterpretations in Mathematics. One
wrong step and the whole solution are messed up. And this is why researchers want to have
deeper knowledge about our reasons with having troubles or struggles in Mathematics.

But first, researchers need to know what Mathematics is. Mathematics is


the science of numbers and their operations, interrelations, combinations, generalizations,
and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement,
transformations, and generalizations(Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2016). This definition
is just based on a dictionary, but throughout the research, researchers will find more about
the said subject. In this chapter, researchers will be discussing the raw information of our
research.

Mathematics performance are the learning styles of the students in Mathematics


and the types if it is low or high performing in school. This study is needed to know the
factors affecting Mathematics performance of the students and the strategies that can
improve the performance in Mathematics by the students.

According to Cortes et. al (2016), in this research, researchers will be having


deeper know-how about students’ struggles about the subject Mathematics. Researchers
all know that mathematics is one of the main topics and additionally the subject that college
students have trouble with. This definition is simply based totally on a dictionary, however
in the course of the research, researchers will locate greater about the stated subject. In this
chapter, researchers will be discussing the uncooked information of our research.

Most of the students indicates that Mathematics interest is still slow due to the fact
most of them have recognized that mathematics is very difficult, boring, and have many
principles that have been very hard to understand. Behind the standard of mathematics they
eventually lose or give up on learning mathematics. Therefore, the benefits of this study is
how to enhance every learners to the factors that affects most the achievement in
mathematics.

The study seeks to understand how the learners have interest in mathematics in our
lives and its purpose. It is also the concerned about the low-achieving the student learned
and the interest in mathematics. As the result of this. The low-achieving of the student will
maintain a high level of interest in mathematics that can be applied in our lives.

Mathematics is the one of the most importance subject in our human life. Without
the knowledge mathematics, we can say nothing possible in the world. Now a day’s
mathematics is globally accepted but locally useless. Mathematics has been accepted as an
importance component of formal education from ancient period to the present day. Our
history shows that ancient scholars developed mathematics practically being obliged day-
to-day problem. In the ancient period, mathematics has developed by great shepherds.
Mathematics is the body of knowledge in the area of science and technology. The subject
mathematics is beautiful and interesting because its own symbols, language, terms,
technology etc. Mathematics is being main part of human lifestyle. In the world, each
society has their own mathematical languages, terms, symbols, counting system in different
countries like as Chinese, American, Japanese, Arabian etc.
The National Research Council purported that students learn mathematics well only
when they construct their own mathematical understanding and that this understanding
requires them to examine, represent, transform, solve, apply, prove, and communicate [10
]. Mathematic is the significant subject in our human life. As mathematics has emphasized
like language most of students have been failed in mathematics as a difficult subject and
majority of students fail in mathematics. By this problem the great deal of time, money
effort and man-power of the nation subject matter, curriculum refineries available problem
solving method extra activities affect to study mathematics in every sectors, Educationists
as well as state are facing the challenges with the problems of failure in SLC examination
in mathematics. The students are suffering by various problems and they are facing the
challenging of SLC examination being failure in mathematics. What are the main
influencing factors to learn mathematics? So, it try to answer the questions like, What are
the causes of difficulties in learning mathematics? Question like this occurs it was
motivated to carried out this research.

This article explores the adversities confronted by way of public faculty students in
studying mathematics in their learning context. The main reason of this study was to
discover the motives of studying difficulties in mathematics. The format of the study was
qualitative. Classroom discovered/practices of three faculties of Arghakhanch district and
interview taken to the research members to gain the lookup objective. It discussed the
distinctive information texts from the possible participants. From the evaluation and
interpretation of data, it concluded that students, teachers and mother and father have to
play an necessary position as key and provider of sound environment for improvement of
pass by charge respectively. Teachers lack of linkage between new mathematical notion
and in the past realized arithmetic structure, mathematic anxiety, bad felling of
mathematics, economic condition and their academic backgrounds, faculty administration
system, lack of infrastructure of college are major reasons of difficulties in mastering
mathematics.

Mathematics is a science of magnitude and number that is very useful virtually in


all subject areas. This is because all fields of studies are dependent on it for problem solving
and prediction of outcomes. Akinoso (2011) viewed Mathematics as the basis for science
and technology and the tool for achieving scientific and technological development.
Despite its great importance, studies show that it is the subject that is most dreaded to
learners among all subjects offered in schools. It causes them to respond to it with less self-
confidence and anxiety.
According to Acharya B. (2017). After the implementation of the new education
system known as K-12 Basic Education Curriculum, many schools across the Philippines
offered Senior High School as a requirement for the new curriculum. It is observed that
public, private school and State Universities and Colleges offer different tracks that is
suited to different careers. Despite of this objective, the researchers observed that many
students have lack of interest on math-related subjects. Since this problem is visible in
every schools, a lot of researches and studies have been conducted to know and explore the
factors that affect the student's interest in learning math. Considering all of these, the
researchers thought of the study that will strengthen the result of previous studies
formulated by different researchers. Thus, the researchers come up with the study about
the "Factors affecting mathematics performance among grade 11 learners". Considering
this problem, the researchers aim to explore the root causes of students' lack of interest in
learning Mathematics. Considering this problem, the researchers aim to explore the root

most significance issue in our human life. In the ancient period, mathematics has developed
through excellent shepherds. Mathematics is being important phase of human lifestyle. The
National Research Council purported that students analyze mathematics nicely solely when
they assemble their very own mathematical grasp and that this understanding requires them
to examine, represent, transform, solve, apply, prove, and talk. Mathematic is the massive
challenge in our human life. As arithmetic has emphasized like language most of college
students have been failed in mathematics as a challenging difficulty and majority of
students fail in mathematics. The students are struggling through a range of issues and they
are going through the difficult of SLC examination being failure in mathematics.
This paper aims to understand how certain different but interrelated variables such
as background, motivation, and social support could lead to an explanation of student
attitudes towards math and to an understanding of the defining characteristics of these
attitudes in the school environment. It affects the performance by Working Memory. In
terms of of cognition, working memory has been identified as a skill needed to perform
well in math. Social Attitudes, outside of brain development and training, the environment
in which math is learned also affects the performance of students.
