HEAT RESISTANT ALUMINUM, 1120 ALLOY AND 6201 ALLOY

Nexans’ bare aluminum cables can be designed with different alloys, according to each project needs. Such as:

HEAT RESISTANT ALUMINUM

Description: Al-Zr alloy for high temperatures (150ºC for AT1 and AT3 to 210ºC, according to IEC standards), with
no mechanical damage in the long term. They are recommended to recovery lines to obtain more transmission capa-
bility.

ALUMINUM ALLOY 1120

Description: A more developed version compared to Al 1350-C, with almost similar electric conductivity (60% IACS)
and over 50% of mechanical resistant. Its significant distinction is the lower flow in relation to other types of aluminum.
It is recommended for transmission or distribution lines, making the overall project optimized and economical.

ALUMINUM ALLOY 6201

Description: It is a Al-Si-Mg alloy that provides roughly twice as much mechanical resistant in relation to Al 1350-C.
Its electric conductivity is lower (52.5% IACS), however in its non-steel core, this alloyed cable can have similar elec-
trical and mechanical characteristics to CAA of the same diameter, but lighter resulting in technical and economical
advantages. It is recommended for transmission or distribution lines.
