STRATEGIES

This study is entitled “ Views and Experinces of teenage mothers on their coping
mechanism and parenting strategies” by Joy Marie D Guzman, Ralph Neri Ferrer,
Febby Kirstin Ibita, Cristine Mae Orcajada, Christine Joy Pagulrigan, Caren Lou
Salvann, Vanessa Sumairs and, Angelica Tonggo. Presented to the Faculty of the
Psychology Department San Pedro College, Davao City.
The purpose of research design is refers to the overall strategy that you choose to
integrate the different components of the study in a coherent and logical way, thereby,
ensuring you will effectively address the research problem. For this study a descriptive
quantitative design was used so descriptive research focus to accurately and
systematically describe a population, situation or phenomenon. It can answer what,
when, where, when and how questions, but not why questions. To determine cause and
effect, experimental research is required.
The research setting can be seen as the physical, social, and cultural site in which the
researcher conducts the study. This study was conducted at the Barangay Hall of
Barangay Visayan Village, Tagum City. The seating arrangement of the participants
was five chair in a row with six columns in order for the participants to be able to answer
the questionnaire with privacy.
The purpose of participants is to give readers information on the number and type of
study participants, as a way of clarifying to whom the study findings apply and findings
as well as any possible limitations for the study. For this study the considered
respondents was 32 females aging from 15 to 21 years old who have become pregnant
within the age bracket of 13-15 years old.
Measure is important in research. Measure focus to ascertain the dimension, quantity,
or capacity of the behaviors or events that researchers want to explore. The study made
use of a validated self-made 49 items questionnaire with visayan translations. Each was
already validated for its clarity, objectivity and suitability. Questionnaire is a research
instrument consisting of a series of questions for the purpose of gathering information
from respondents and the data needed can be collected from the questionnaire.
The purpose of the used to identify, select, process, and analyze information applied to
understanding the problem, thereby, allowing the reader to critically evaluate a study’s
overall validity and reliability. The researches explain to the partcipants whatever data
gathered from the respondents will be kept.
