1. What are the factors to consider in selecting an instructional material?

 The factors that you are going to consider in choosing a certain instructional material is

of course mainly your students. You have to consider your students whether they are

prefer that they are the ones who are manipulating the materials but there are also

students that only prefer to watch while the teacher is manipulating the materials. So if

you are going to use material it depends upon what students/ learners you have.

2. When can you say that an instructional material is effective?

 An instructional material is consider effective if the students themselves can manipulate

it in a way that they can use it and apply it in real life situation and as well as they can

learn it from manipulating those kind of materials.

3. How do you keep your subject and teaching materials up to date?

 This is talking about the 21st Century kind way of teaching in using material. Even if

materials that seems updated for some people like books it can still be use in 21st

century because materials are based or it depends upon how the teacher use it in a

certain subject because there are certain subjects and specific topic that does not

required real life material, sometimes it needs to consider books because they are

officially and internationally launch and the resources is trusted. You need to be abreast

of the things that are happening in the present such as the newscast you can

manipulate those by setting examples in the classroom varying from a certain topic.

4. How can you evaluate alternative teaching materials?

 Since, this is talking about the alternative way because there are instances that

expectation is bitten by the reality especially if you are expected something you are

expecting a material actually fit the subject but then the materials is missing so it’s
possible that you will use materials that can be found within the area such as where you

are teaching and where the material is available.

5. What instructional strategies will be employed to facilitate the learning

outcomes?

 when a teacher has to facilitate a certain learning outcome so he/she will probably

apply instructional strategies which are interacted in a way that the teacher and as well

as the students can manipulate both the materials and then in first certain details or ask

questions in order to produce one conclusion from that certain topic.

6. What are the qualities that an instructional material should have?

 The most quality of an instructional material should possess is that it should be versatile

in which it could be applied in every subject and both learners and the teachers can get

access in this material and it should be only found within the area you are teaching and

the students can also relate from the materials so that they will not be culture shock

upon the certain instructional materials otherwise if you are going to which learners

cannot relate to the instructional material then it would probably take much longer time

in terms of the teaching learning process.

Our group prepared six (6) questions related to the instructional materials

that will use as our instrument to conduct our interview. Ms. Chinine Deloso a high school

teacher in Nasipit National Vocational School serves as our interviewee. As what Ms. Deloso

said that in doing instructional materials she should consider her students what they prefer

because some students they are the one’s manipulating the materials but there are also

students prefer that the teacher manipulating the materials. The instructional material is

effective if the students can use it and apply it in real life and as well as they can learn from it.

In terms of instructional strategies for her she use strategies which are interacted in a way that

a teacher and as well as the students can manipulate both the materials and to ask questions in

order to produce one conclusion from that topic. A quality of an instructional material should

possess is that it should be versatile in which it could be applied in every subject and both

learners and the teachers can get access in the material and it should be found within the area.

Through this interview as future educators it gives us more knowledge and hint on how to make

or use the instructional materials in an effective way.
