Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all following conditions are met.
1. One controller is blockaded
2. SAS backend diagnostic process executed on another controller
3. SAS control LSI reset occurs on another controller
Cause Due to the firmware bug, firmware recognizes different HDD or ENC fails in SAS backend
diagnostic process when SAS control LSI reset occurs.

5 HDD blockade or PIN over

Phenomena HDD blockade or PIN over occurred when another HDU was blockaded
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence When all of the following conditions are met, the phenomenon may occur.
1. SATA HDD was blockaded
2. After that, the SATA HDD appears on the backend SAS route illegally
3. After that, the SATA HDD disappears on the backend SAS route illegally
4. After that (2) and (3) repeat continuously
Cause Due to the firmware bug, firmware searches the blockaded SATA HDD illegally. Then
normal I/O was prevented by the search traffic and TIMEOUT to normal HDD occurs.
Affected Products/Version 0832/E or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/B or later
Category Common
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

6 PIN over occurred with ENC firmware download

Phenomena PIN over occurred when ENC firmware download is executed
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all following conditions are met.
1. Host I/O is executed
2. ENC firmware download is executed
3. SAS backend diagnostic process executed because of a failure part on SAS backend
Cause Due to the firmware bug about ENC, download process.
Affected Products/Version 0810/A or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/A or later
Category ENC firmware download
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

7 Subsystem down in boot process occurs with ENC failure

Phenomena Subsystem down in boot process occurs with ENC failure
Severity High
Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all following conditions are met.
1. ENC hardware failure
2. Boot process
Cause Due to the firmware bug about boot process
Affected Products/Version 0840/A or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/A or later
Category Common
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

8 Controller is blockaded with "Micro program error[ISM]"
Phenomena Controller is blockaded with "Micro program error[ISM]" when Qlogic ISCSI HBA
connects to DF800 The message, "Micro program error[ISM]" is displayed.
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem will occur when all following conditions are met.
1. ISCSI Host I/F
2. Qlogic ISCSI HBA
3. Target number is equal or over 174
Cause Due to the firmware bug about ISCSI Host I/O connection process
Affected Products/Version 0843/B or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/A or later
Category ISCSI
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

9 Controller is blockaded with "Micro program error [CMD]"

Phenomena Controller is blockaded with "Micro program error [CMD]" when Host I/O traffic is high.
The message "Micro program error [CMD]" is displayed.
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all following conditions are met.
1. Fibre Channel Host I/F
2. Host I/O traffic is high
Cause When the cross command operates, the commands are copied to the other
controller's ques. The copied commands are overlapped, so those commands
were not checked in full.
Affected Products/Version 0840/A or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/A or later
Category Fibre Channel Host I/F
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

10 When the queue full status responds to host, the controller is blockaded.
Phenomena When the queue full status responds to host, the controller is blockaded.
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence 1. High load
2. More than 1400 commands are received at the same time
3. The queue full status responds
Cause Lack of resources generated by internal resource defect when response to command from
the server is delayed, queue full status is generated, and the controller is blockaded
Affected Products/Version 0832/E or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/B or later
Category Fibre Channel I/F
Changed Part MICRO-Disk

11 Illegal message output after uncorrectable cache error

Phenomena When the uncorrectable error of cache is occurred, the web message reports on wrong cache
slot number.
Severity Medium
Conditions of Occurrence 1.DF800M/H
2. The uncorrectable error of cache is occurred
Cause The parameter set to the Web message is wrong.

12 ENC failure when removing ENC_PK (or ENC cable)
Phenomena Removing ENC_PK (or ENC cable) from the operating DF800 causes other Expander's
error (ENC failure). There is a few potential to occur Subsystem down finally.
Severity High
Conditions of Occurrence ・Removing the ENC_PK (or ENC cable) during transmitting write data to
SATA-HDD with the other path, and Expander cannot transfer "Break",
because Expander's resource is not released.
* There is no problem when removing ENC_PK (or ENC cable) on the failed path.
Cause ・Current setting of Expander is to transfer "Break" via Expander's own FIFO.
(That means Break is not transferred until the data in FIFO is transferred.)
・If Expander's resource (FIFO) is not released due to above condition later access request is
failed and results in the error in both backend path.
*Change the setting of Expander to allow, "Break" to bypass Expander's own FIFO.
Affected Products/Version 0832/Aor later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/B or later
Category Common
Changed Part ENC micro

13 Controller blockaded
Phenomena Controller is blockaded when RST switch on another controller is pushed.

2. Forced write through mode is valid.
3. A controller is blockaded
Cause Due to the firmware bug about Reset process
Affected Products/Version 0831/A or later
Fixed Product/Version Version: 0850/C or later
Category Common
Changed Part MICRO-Disk
