Network Diagnostics
K18 Probe
Tektronix’ K18 hardware probe, combined with a PC
platform, enables customers to minimize acquisition costs
without sacrificing much-needed high-performance
capabilities. It supports testing of mobile technologies,
including LTE, WiMAX, HSPA, 3G, 2.5G and 2G. The K18
probe performs real-time capture under heavy load
situations from STM-1/OC-3/GbE interfaces, hardware
filtering (control plane/user plane, VPI/VCI), and first-level
hardware processing (RLC/MAC reassembling, logical
channels auto-configuration). In addition, the PC platform
performs application measurements and acts as a data
archive server.

The K18 probes connect to the PC using 10/100/1000Base-T

ports. Basic configurations consisting of a laptop or desktop
PC and one or two probes are suitable for most field
troubleshooting and many design verification activities.
Larger configurations for more demanding needs are made
possible through the use of multiple probes, and can be K18 Probe
controlled by a single or multiple users.

NSA is a suite of fully-automated software applications
designed for effective troubleshooting and the optimization
of mobile networks and services. NSA allows users to
trace subscribers’ calls both in real time and offline as they
travel across the network over multiple interfaces and over

NetTek® YBT100/YBT100DS3
The dual-T1 YBT100 and the dual-T1 and single T3
YBT100DS3 Backhaul Modules for Tektronix’ NetTek
enable mobile operators to quickly and efficiently test
backhaul and transport circuits. The result, quite simply, is
higher productivity with less outage time. These backhaul
modules offer technicians the flexibility to test T1 and T3
circuits while being controlled with by NetTek or the
technician’s laptop.

This technology is capable of completely analyzing test

measurements needed to uncover T1 problems affecting a
live mobile network, before they escalate into down time.
For T1 and T3 circuits, all errors, alarms, and signal quality
information is displayed on one easy-to-read summary
page. This page may be stored for benchmark testing
during turn-up or for analysis at a later time.
