THE COW

Cows are very useful to mankind, in supplying them with milk from which both butter and
cheese are made.

Their young ones are called calves, and the flesh of calves is veal. A good Cow will give
about fifteen or more quarts of milk a day, but much depends upon the quality of the pasture
she feeds upon.

Her age is told by her horns; after she is three years old a ring is formed every year at the root
of the horn, so that by counting the number of circles, her age may be exactly known.

Cows are sometimes prettily marked with black, brown, and yellow spots, and, as they lie
scattered about a green meadow, add much to the charms of a landscape.

My Holiday with My Family at Pangandaran Beach

Last month was New Year holiday. I and my family went to Pangandaran beach for a
vacation. We took a tourism bus to go there. We left at 07.00 o’clock in the morning. The trip
took about four hours and we arrived at around 11.00 am.

As we arrived there, I walked down to the beach. It was a nice sunny day with a blue sky and
a gentle breeze. I saw some seagulls flew around hunting for fish. The waves there were
suitable for swimming, but I didn’t swim because I couldn’t swim and only play with the
water on shallow part. We also didn’t miss our opportunity here taking some pictures with the
background of scenic Pangandaran beach.

Before we went home, I looked for some beautiful souvenir at the nearby shop there.
Eventually, we went home at about 05.00 pm. It was a memorable experience for me with my
family.

The Ant and the Dove

One hot day, an ant was seeking for some water. After walking around for a moment, she
came to a spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her
way up, she slipped and fell unintentionally into the water.

She could have sunk if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in
trouble, the dove quickly put off a leaf from a tree and dropped it immediately into the water
near the struggling ant. Then the ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it
carried her safely to dry ground.

Not long after at that, there was a hunter nearby who was throwing out his net towards the
dove, hoping to trap it in this way.

Guessing what he should do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter
dropped his net and the dove flew away quickly from this net.

The morality: One good turn deserves another.

Flags

A flag is a piece of fabric (most often rectangular or quadrilateral) with a distinctive

design that is used as a symbol, as a signaling device, or as decoration. The term flag is also
used to refer to the graphic design employed, and flags have since evolved into a general tool
for rudimentary signalling and identification, especially in environments where
communication is similarly challenging (such as the maritime environment where semaphore
is used).

National flags are potent patriotic symbols with varied wide-ranging interpretations. Flags are
also used in messaging, advertising, or for other decorative purposes. The study of flags is
known as vexillology, from the Latin word vexillum, meaning flag or banner.

One morning, a man was crossing a narrow bridge. When he saw a fisherman under him on
the shady bank of the deep smooth river, he stopped to watch him quietly.

He saw that the fisherman took off the hook and caught a big fish. But he threw it back to
water. Then he put his hook and line in again. After a minute he caught rather big fish. Again,
he threw it back into the river. Then the third time, he caught a small fish. He put it into his
basket and started to get ready to go. The man on the bridge was very surprised, so he spoke
to the fisherman. He asked why did he threw those beautiful big fishes back into the water
and just kept only the small one.

The fisherman looked up and answered, “I only have a small frying pan.”

Tsunami

In Indonesia, we are very familiar with the word " Tsunami ". This natural disaster has ever
killed thousands of lives in Banda Aceh a few years ago. Indonesia mourned, the world
mourned. Then, how the Tsunami happens? Here is a brief explanation of the process of how
the Asian tsunami happens.

Tsunamis can occur if there is a phenomenon which causes the displacement of large
amounts of water in the ocean, such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides, and
meteors that fall to Earth. However, 90% of tsunamis is the result of underwater earthquakes.

Vertical movement in the Earth's crust in the bottom of the ocean causes a sudden up or down
movement of sea floor which then causes the water balance disorders above it. This
disturbance causes the occurrence of the flow of the massive sea water energy, that once it
reaches the shore, it becomes huge waves resulting Tsunami.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: The Chronicles of Narnia

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the first book published in C.S. Lewis’ classic
Chronicles of Narnia series, which children have loved for generations. The main characters
are clear role models who valiantly help save Narnia from the Witch; even the one who
initially falls under her sway learns his lesson, showing the power of repentance and
forgiveness.

Anyone who’s ever dreamed of living in a world where animals can talk is going to enjoy this
book. Originally published in 1950, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is full of
storyteller’s asides and precious English children, with a mix of adventure and serious battles.
Yes, perhaps the forces of good sometimes seem to have too easy a time vanquishing their
foes, and, yes, the writing style is now somewhat dated, but this is still a classic series that
young fantasy fans will thoroughly enjoy.

“I just wanna cross this street. I’m afraid they hit me,” the old man answered then walked
