and competent sources in addition to actual data that becomes readers’

lempengan pakis.
Total jenderal lebih dari 80 spesies terkumpul
selama setahun. “Tapi yang sudah teridentikasi
baru 80 jenis,” kata pria yang tahu persis jika satu
pot anggreknya berpindah tempat. Populasi paling
banyak, anggrek hitam Coelogyne pandurata.
Maklum, Djoko sudah memperbanyak anggrek
dengan lidah hitam dan petal hijau itu.
Masih di Borneo, Dinas Pertanian Kota
Pontianak juga berupaya menyelamatkan
anggrek-anggrek hutan khas Kalimantan.

Di Kota Khatulistiwa itu, usaha penyelamatan
anggrek hutan juga dirintis oleh 3 srikandi
pencinta spesies. Tiga perempuan itu: Ir Chairani
Siregar, MSc, Ir Agustina Listiawati, MP, dan
Ir Purwaningsih, MSi jatuh hati pada angota famili
Orchidaceae itu gara-gara aktif di Perhimpunan
Anggrek Indonesia (PAI) Provinsi Kalimantan Barat
dan Kota Pontianak. Karakter yang beragam
membuat mereka terpikat.
Sayang, keberadaan anggrek alam itu
terancam. Setiap kali melakukan eksplorasi—
bagian dari kegiatan PAI atau sebagai akademisi

itu tampak jejeran puluhan pohon durian yang
ditaksir berumur di atas 40 tahun. Garis tengah
pohon-pohon setinggi 30—40 m itu mencapai
setengah meter.
Sayang, sepanjang jalan yang penuh lubang-
lubang selebar ember itu tak terlihat zibethinus
yang memamerkan buah. Titik terang muncul saat
beberapa orang melintas dengan memikul karung
berisi durian. “Ini pekawai,” kata Baharudin yang
menggenggam durian sekepal tangan orang
dewasa itu. Durio kutejensis itu hasil panen di
kebun Busrah. “Saya hanya punya 2 pohon dan
ini panen kedua,” kata Busrah yang sore itu
mendapat 7 karung pekawai dari sebuah pohon
setinggi 40 m. Dengan daging buah kuning dan
legit, pekawai cukup mengobati dahaga Trubus
menyantap durian.
Makarius di Desa Sotok beruntung masih
menyimpan durian unggul: trenggiling. Dengan
bobot sekitar 5 kg, saat dibelah warna kuning
daging buah sudah menggoda. Tak salah, rasanya
memang mantap. Dengan daging buah kering, rasa
legitnya melekat kuat di lidah. Selain trenggiling
Makarius juga memiliki durian unggul lain seperti
tembaga sotok mas yang merebut juara lomba
buah unggul nasional Trubus pada 2005. “Durian
ini jadi incaran cukong-cukong durian Malaysia.
Harganya bisa mencapai Rp300.000/buah,” kata
Makarius. Ingat itu harga di kebun!
