Abstract

The study on Subscription to Booking Apps: Constraints and Prospects was

undertaken to identify the constraints why majority of the accommodation businesses in

Dapitan City did not subscribe to online booking to come up what would be the possible

prospects if they subscribe to online booking. The study utilized descriptive –survey

method and thirteen (13) accommodation businesses as participants of the study.

The study revealed that majority of thebusinesses industry in Dapitan City did not

subscribe to online booking apps even if the installation is free. They are hesitant to

upgrade their business’ services due to lack of market and unprofitability. However,

according to one (1) accommodation business in Dapitan City subscribing to online

booking apps has a lot advantages such as eased of transaction and business promotion,

Therefore accommodation businesses in Dapitan City should consider in subscribing to

online booking applications because it can help their business grow.

The recommendation of this study points to the need for the accommodation

industry in Dapitan City to invest in online booking apps which can provide them a wide

platform in expanding market and sales probability rather than relying on facebook as

their primary marketing tool. The accommodation businesses in Dapitan City needs to

undergo trainings in relations to online booking services so that they will have enough

knowledge on how to handle and use online booking apps for them to use it efficiently in

utilizing its power in digital marketing to promote their business.
