3.2.2 Understand specific information and details of short simple texts


LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1) Highlight/underline 6 food from the text.
2) State the origin of five food.

i. PRE-LESSON : PRE-LESSON TASK 12: PASS IT ON
ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1. Teacher say aloud the flashcards and asks pupils to repeat (Student’s
Book p.58/Teacher’s Book, p.92)
2. Teacher elicits some details about the food by asking the questions:
a) Are there any cheeses in the cheeseburgers?
3. Pupils are asked to read the passage to find the answers.
4. After reading, pupils are asked to match the picture to the text.
5. Each group are given a worksheet each. They are asked to read it one
by one. After reading, pupils are asked to highlight/ name the food and
write the answers in their notebooks.
6. Teacher sticks the answers on the board. Pupils are directed to the
board to find the answers.
7. Pupils are asked to write draw a circle map in their notebooks and
write the vocabulary they learned today.
