 Various important chemical testing, its procedures, significance


and its role in decision making in the industrial scenario shall be
discussed-Testing of raw materials -moisture content, -ash
content, specific gravity, dirt content etc. Raw Rubber testing –
Moisture content, dirt content etc.
 Chemical testing of rubber, identification of polymers by chemical
method, by FTIR method-specific gravity, swelling studies-
Change in weight-Changes in volume-Change in dimensions
-Changes in physical properties – TS, Eb %, Hd etc-chemical
composition analysis -rubber content, carbon content, ash
content etc.

 Various important physical testing, its procedures, significance


and its role in decision making in the industrial scenario shall be
discussed

 Rubber Compound testing -scorch time,-Optimum cure time-


Mooney viscosity , Mooney scorch, Raw material testing
