BARANGAY PUNTA ORMOC CITY

Here in Barangay. Punta Ormoc City we have a different name of religion but same believe only

Jesus Christ our savior. Every country has a different name of religion that will achieve goal of

salvation for oneself and others to worship God. Religion serve and human beings’ relation to

that which they regard as holy, sacred, absolute, spiritual, divine, or worthy of especial

reverence. Religion can bind together different people have different experiences with their

religion. In the following reflections, teenagers share parts of their religious experiences. While

each belongs to a particular religion, each one’s experience does not fully represent that religion

as a whole. It is also commonly regarded as consisting of the way people deal with ultimate

concerns about their lives and their fate after death. In many traditions, this relation and these

concerns are expressed in terms of one’s relationship with or attitude toward gods or spirits; in

more humanistic or naturalistic forms of religion, they are expressed in terms of one’s

relationship with or attitudes toward the broader human community or the natural world. In

many religions, texts are deemed to have scriptural status, and people are esteemed to be

invested with spiritual or moral authority. Believers and worshippers participate in and are often

enjoined to perform devotional or contemplative practices such as prayer, meditation, or

particular rituals. Worship, moral conduct, right belief, and participation in religious institutions

are among the constituent elements of the religious life. Religious beliefs are the beliefs in the

reality of the mythological, supernatural, or spiritual aspects of a religion. Religious belief is

distinct from religious practice or religious behaviors with some believers not practicing religion

and some practitioners not believing religion. Religious beliefs, being derived from ideas that are
exclusive to religion, often relate to the existence, characteristics and worship of a deity or

deities, divine intervention in the universe and human life, or the deontological explanations for

the values and practices centered on the teachings of a spiritual leader or group. In contrast to

other belief systems, religious beliefs are usually codified. Culture of a religion is one of the

most important in cultural values that support these people-to-people and people-to-nature values

has traditionally been the role of religion in most society. There are 4200 religions in the world

but there are 5 common or most influential religion that is Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism,

Christianity, and Islam. Only the Christianity and Islam are the two religions most widely spread

across the world. cultural values that support these people-to-people and people-to-nature values

has traditionally been the role of religion in most society. In the Philippines religion is a major

influence in the world today religious beliefs have a strong influence on the culture of a

community. Here in Ormoc proudly boasts to be the only Christian More than 86 percent of the

population is Roman Catholic, 6 percent belong to various nationalized Christian cults, and

another 2 percent belong to well over 100 Protestant denominations. There is also a

visible Muslim minority within the city and all over the island, evidenced by the mosques within

the cityscape and most of them are Maranaos from the twin provinces of Lanao del

Norte and Lanao del Sur in Mindanao. In Punta Ormoc City there are 4 different type of

Christian that is (Roman Catholic, Baptist, Dating Daan, 7th Day Adventist)

Catholics of different countries and regions of the world practice and celebrate the faith in

diverse ways. In some places in the world, people practice Catholicism publicly, with religious

displays in city squares, streets and even stores, while in other places, religious practice is

considered private, and reserved for the home and sacred spaces. Some cities and neighborhoods

organize elaborate feasts and processions honoring their patron saints or holy days. Regional
cultures may have different approaches to family, marriage and gender roles as well as death

rituals. Sometimes, migration patterns or indigenous traditions shape a region's religious

practice. In some cases, the spread of Pentecostalism has influenced Catholic worship.

The Baptist tradition is one of the largest of the Protestant Christian denominations. Most Baptist

churches agree with the basic Protestant doctrines, but they stress the belief that only Christian

believers should be baptized (called "believer's baptism") and that this baptism should occur by

immersion, a practice they trace back to the early Church. Baptist churches have local church

autonomy but are connected to each other through various associations. Most Baptists trace their

heritage to early 17th-century C.E. differences with the Church of England and the subsequent

decision to form Christian communities with local autonomy, an emphasis on believer's baptism,

and an understanding of the church as primarily a community of believers. The Baptist tradition

would see massive growth in the United States during the Great Awakening in the mid-18th

century, followed by an increased interest and effort in foreign missions. Within the Baptist

tradition, there are several branches. In the U.S., a significant split occurred within the Baptist

tradition along a north/south distinction in 1845 with the formation of the Southern Baptist

Convention. There are still significant differences between northern and southern Baptists

regarding theology, missions, and worship. The Baptist Church also has a strong tradition within

black communities. Most Baptist churches tend to be evangelical in doctrine, and vary greatly

from extremely conservative to liberal socially and politically.
