Driving Question
Problem arousing from growing population on earth leads to a question, why is
there no life on other planets?

Inquiry Question
 What are the factors that contributes to the on earth?
 The factors that makes life possible on earth why are they not
available on other planets?
 What efforts have been made to find life on other planets?

Story Board
Earth is at the right distance from sun, it is protected from harmful
solar radiations by its magnetic field and it has the right chemical
ingredients for life including water and carbon.
Life cannot be imagined on other planets because they are either to
hot or cold or no water and oxygen is available.
Many space crafts have been sent to search life on other planets, but no avail,
life is not possible there. Most importantly there is no gravity on other planets.

DATA COLLCETION
SOLAR SYSTEM

THE SUN
Sun is the biggest object in our solar system it is very hot and gives light and
energy to earth and other planets.it is a giant ball of gases mostly hydrogen.
Without its intense energy there would be no life on earth.

MERCURY
Mercury is the closet planet to the sun. Mercury gets very cold because it has
almost no atmosphere to hold in heat and keep the surface warm.

VENUS
Venus is the second planet from the sun.it is the hottest planet in solar system.
The thick atmosphere makes the surface hotter because heat doesn’t escape
back into space

EARTH
Earth is third from sun the sun.it is the only planet known to have an
atmosphere containing free oxygen, oceans of water on its surface and of
course life.

MARS
Mars is forth from sun.it is also called red planet. Its cold desert like place
covered in dust this dust is made up of iron oxide.

JUPITER
The fifth planet frim the sun, Jupiter is a giant gas world that is the most
massive plant in our solar system. according to NASA it is more than twice as
massive as all other planets combined.

SATURN
It is sixth from sun it has two large moon on sides. The gaseous planet is mostly
hydrogen and helium and has numerous moon

URANUS
The seventh planet from sun it is an odd ball it has clouds made of
hydrogen sulphide.
NEPTUNE
Eight planet from sun it is too cold that freezes everything on surface.

collect the data and then present in front of class)
