COURSE SYLLABUS

I. Course Code: CS 322/ CS321L

II. Course Title: Network Management

III. Course Description:

This course aims to provide a hands-on introduction to the scalable venture


creation process for students with a strong interest in scalable or high-growth
entrepreneurship (“Technopreneurship”). Technopreneurship does not necessarily
mean starting a high-tech business; it means starting a business with the potential
to grow to a significant size.

The course provides an overview of the major elements of startup/entrepreneurial


activity, including evaluation and planning of a new business, financing, team
building, typical marketing and operational management issues, alternative
models for revenue and growth, and exit strategies

IV. Course Credit: 3 units

1. Discuss the significance of the vision, mission, goals and


objectives of the college.
2. To learn the design principles of communication networks.
3. To learn the OSI network model to organize the study of networks.
4. To understand the physical phenomenon that can be used to
transmit digital information.
5. To know the protocols and characteristics required for Wide Area
Network communication (TCP/IP).
6. To know the protocols and characteristics of Local Area Networks.
(Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, and others)
7. Acquire thorough understanding of the vision, mission, goals and
objectives of the college.
8. Provides opportunities whereby the students will acquire the
necessary knowledge, interests and skills in creating websites.
