Q. When will the CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum be available?

A. All courses for the CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum in English are available for immediate use in NetAcad.com.

In addition, the first 2 CCNA R&S 6.0 course in translated languages are now available shortly after the
release of the English version. We will communicate the release timeline for the last 2 translated courses
when more information becomes available. The translated languages are: Arabic, French, Portuguese,
Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.

Q. Will CCNA R&S instructors need to be re-accredited to teach the CCNA R&S 6.0 courses?
A. No. Instructors already accredited to teach CCNA R&S courses do not have to be re-accredited to teach
CCNA R&S 6.0 courses.

Q. What are the changes to the CCNA R&S curriculum?

There are 3 different categories of changes to the CCNA R&S curriculum: new content, moved content and

Q. Are there any changes to the CCNA R&S lab equipment?

A. No. There is no change to the CCNA Routing & Switching Equipment List.

Q. Where can I find information about Cisco Press book for this curriculum?
A. You can get the details from http://www.ciscopress.com/academy

Q. I cannot adopt the CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum immediately. Will I be teaching the obsolete CCNA R&S
5.X courses in the mean time?
A. No. The CCNA R&S 5.X courses are not obsolete. The CCNA R&S 5.X courses still teach the core networking
fundamentals knowledge that are greatly valued by instructors and students.

The CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging course is a great interim solution to address the certification gaps for students
who need to take the CCNA R&S certification exams.

Q. What is the percentage of changes between CCNA R&S version 5.0 and version 6.0?
It is hard to quantify the percentage of changes between CCNA R&S version 5.0 and version 6.0. However,
please find below the summary of the magnitude for the 3 different categories of changes: new content, moved
content and removed content.

Q. What are NetAcad’s recommendations on the transition and adoption of CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum?
A. NetAcad understands that some academies may not be able to adopt the CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum
immediately as the courses are being released. But if you can, here are NetAcad’s recommendations:

1) Adopt ITN 6.0 as soon as the course is available (if you can)
ITN 6.0 includes new content and is aligned with the new CCNA R&S certifications. In addition, there is no
negative impact if RSE 6.0 is not available as the next course.

2) Adopt ITN 6.0 and RSE 6.0 as soon as these 2 courses are available if your academy only offer the first 2
CCNA R&S courses
ITN 6.0 and RSE 6.0 in English will be released at the same time.

If you are using the translated ITN 6.0 and RSE 6.0, please keep in mind that these courses will not be
released at the same time.

 3) Adopt CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum after all of the courses are available
ScaN 6.0 and CN 6.0 in English are projected to be available in the July 2017 timeframe. However, you
may want to consider adopting RSE 6.0 if you are not planning to teach ScaN until August 2017.

Q. Are there any tutorials on the new technical topics in the CCNA R&S 6.0 curriculum?
Yes. The tutorials on the new technical topics can be found in the Global IPD course.

Q. Are certification exam discount vouchers available for the new CCNA R&S certification exams?
A. Yes. The CCNA R&S voucher program is available for the new CCNA R&S certification exams. Current
eligibility requirements are the same for all discount vouchers: 75% or higher on the first attempt of the course
final exam plus a “complete” in the grade book.

Qualified student and instructor candidates will automatically receive a discount voucher request link on “I’m
Learning” tab. The discount rate for the CCNA R&S vouchers is shown below.
