Brigada Eskwela 2019
Narrative Report

I.INTRODUCTION
The DepEd Memorandum no. 36, s. 2019 entitled 2019
BRIGADA ESKWELA IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES, issued March 26,
2019, the Department of Education (DepEd) conducted the 2019
Brigada Eskwela from May 20 to 25, 2019 with the theme Matatag
na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan.

According to the memorandum, school heads shall take the


lead in planning the activities geared to making schools
ecologically conscious, resilient, clean, safe, and conductive to
learning.

Pursuant to this, the Supreme Student Government (SSG), as


one of the leaders of the school, headed the facilitation of the six-
day event, which was attended by parents, students, stakeholders
and community helpers.
Each day, all club officers’ focuses on something as assigned
to them by SSG. Likewise, students and parents focused on
cleaning the classrooms, as they are all being welcomed by SSG.

II.OBJECTIVES
According to DepEd Memo no. 36, s. 2019, the activity aims
to:

• Bring together all stakeholders to participate and


contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare
public school facilities for the opening of the school
year in June.

Other than that, the following objectives were also


considered:

• To cooperate with the community in making its facilities


(e.g. school) a presentable venue

• To assist all queries of the students and teachers with


the implementation of Student Information and

Assistance Desk

III.SUMMARY
Throughout the planning, SSG ensured that program is
indeed significant to the students and are open to all genders
without discriminating any culture or social identity.
In the activity proper, the SSG Officers together with other
clubs started the Brigada Week by conducting a parade inside
the Tagumpay Housing which was participated by different clubs
and organizations of the school who wore t-shirts of different colors
representing their club or organization’s official color.

After the parade of the students and teachers, they all


reassembled in the covered court and conducted the opening
program, which were facilitated by SSG. The Student Council also
assisted attending parents and students in registering in the
registration desk, handling their donations (either by money or by
material) and proceeding into their seats.

Meanwhile, other clubs and organizations were placed in


the audience to cooperate with SSG in assisting the attendees.

Amidst the program, an aero dance, headed by the MAPEH


Burst Club and Sports club, alongside with Mrs. Maricar D.O.
Villamor, the School Guidance Councilor, was conducted as a
form of energizer to all the attendees, as well as club officers, who
danced along with the heads of the energizer.

After the energizer, a small discussion was made with the


attendees. Among the discussion points were about the Red Cross
Membership and the responsibilities and objectives on how such
the Brigada Eskwela is an important program.

After the opening program, all parents, students and club


officers went to their assigned area of responsibilities. While all
parents and students went to their own respective classrooms to
be used for the next school year, the area of responsibilities of
each club is as follows:

• Supreme Student Government - area near the gate and


in front of the gate

• Young Scientists Club and Yes-O – Science Garden,


including the path walk beside the Faculty Office

• English Sentinels Club – Reading Nook and its


surroundings

• AP Mythos Club – AP Garden and its surroundings

• Enthusiastic Math Wizards Club – Math Garden and its


surroundings

• EsP Values Royale Club – the 2nd floor of Ynares II


building (in front of the registrar’s office, the guidance
office, the office of grade level and department heads
and the E- library )

• ICT Ambassadors Club – the 1st floor of the Ynares 1


building (in front of the Computer Laboratory II and
Shop Room)

• TLE Mantle Club – HE Room and Shop Room

• Filipino KaPaRiZ Club and SamaSArGaTa – Filipino


garden and its surroundings, including the path walk in
front of the burger shop

• MAPEH Burst Club – stage and its surroundings


• Sports Club – covered court

• BSP and GSP – Scouting Office and Comfort Rooms

• The Victor and Ang Tagumpay School Publishing – open


area behind the Prinicipal LED Building

After the first day, the SSG Club with the all other clubs and
alumni also helped in repainting school gardens. They, especially
the Science, Math, and Filipino Clubs, all repainted the seats and
tables of each garden. Some (students and teachers) also helped
in repainting the club corners and quarters.

On the third day and so on, students and parents keep on


helping in cleaning the school. Some donated cleaning tools and
materials like rags, floor waxes, and brooms. While others also
donated cash and listed their names on the Deed of Donation
until the last day.
IV.ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We, the Supreme Student Government would like to express
our deepest appreciation to all teachers and staff who actively
participated; to all students who gave their effort and
cooperation in the whole vent; to our SSG adviser, Mr. Celedonio
Borricano Jr., who still gave his time and support just to ensure the
success of the event; to our dearest principal, Dr. Maria Cristina S.
Marasigan who always gives her guidance and permission to
conduct these activities.
