Introduction

Bohol is one of Philippines’s most iconic travel destinations and home to an amazing
array of sights, activities and events. Even first-time visitors to Bohol will quickly be enthralled by
how fun and fascinating Bohol really can be.

Business Description

The business I have envisioned to make is a Resort. Knowing that Bohol is one of the
most visited provinces in the Philippines (in terms of Tourism), it needs to cater to the
accommodation needs of thousands of tourists. Despite the fact that there are already hundreds
of hotel establishments in the province, the preferences of the tourists vary. That is why I have
decided to make a resort that would be a bit different than the “norm” of all the other hotels to
give tourists a wider choice of hotel accommodation.

The location that I have chosen is the Ancestral house of my grandfather located at Ungab
Street, Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. It is a residential lot but I can see a potential for
business. I chose this location because this is the only lot which is owned by my family that is
near the beach. I grabbed the opportunity to check for the feasibility of this location and the
probability of pursuing this plan in reality. This place is away from the typical locations of the
hotels in Bohol which are usually located in Dauis-Panglao Island, it is perfect for tourists who
wants to get away from the crowd in Panglao and the busy streets of Tagbilaran, the presence of
the beach is already a plus.

Ungab Hotel will be composed of native materials and antique wooden furniture since
the business of my late grandparents before was making and selling antique furniture. I want to
display the creation of my grandparents. Over all, the theme and architectural designs will be in
a Filipino-Spanish style but in a minimalist way. It will look artistic but not too overwhelming. This
is the best thing I can offer to tourist from other countries. They came to our country to visit, look
for beautiful sites and the most important part of their journey in travelling is the culture of the
country they are into.
Feasibility Study

This resort will be a sole proprietorship business. This business has a high chance
to be made possible since the City of Tagbilaran is also gearing towards prospering its tourism
venture. I will market and advertise the hotel internationally thru internet sources, emails, social
media, radios, newspapers and others. The location of the place is also feasible since the
land/area is already existing since it is the ancestral house of my grandparents. It I also a few
walks away from Booy Beach where the guests can stroll and go for a quick dip. The resort will
complete every pertinent papers and regulations towards building the business. Tagbilaran has
great things to offer, it being the heart of the Province, tourists will not be in problem of where
to go or activities to do since everything is almost available or accessible in Tagbilaran.

The proposed capital for the business is still confidential since the exact amount can’t be
ensured yet. I will still provide an estimated budget for the entire works of the hotel. The
estimated cost for the hotel will range within 15-20 million pesos. The estimated budget includes
all; from land properties to construction and all things needed for the resort.

Tagbilaran is in need of accommodation establishments since it is few in this area

compared to Dauis-Panglao part where there is more. Building my resort in this place would be
very feasible especially for those tourists who would love to get away from the busy crowd of
Panglao but still would want a nice play to stay plus a beach. The establishment would be in need
of manpower, therefore the locals from Tagbilaran can benefit to the said establishment in terms
of work. The hotel can also help the city in terms of their need of more accommodation
businesses for the high number of arrivals of tourists. The soon to rise “Ungab Hotel” will be an
environmentally friendly hotel which is also artsy and creatively designed showcasing rich Filipino
creativity through the showcase of my grandparent’s antique creations. This will be established
and will soon rise in Booy, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
