ABSTRACT

Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person or group
to another. Every communication involves (at least) one sender, a message and a recipient.
This may sound simple, but communication is actually a very complex subject. The
transmission of the message from sender to recipient can be affected by a huge range of
things. These include our emotions, the cultural situation, the medium used to communicate,
and even our location. The complexity is why good communication skills are considered so
desirable by employers around the world: accurate, effective and unambiguous
communication is actually extremely hard.

In this project we are identifying a organization and studying about different types of
communications happening in that organization and different channels used for the
communication. Barriers for effective communication in the selected organization is also get
studied and suggestions to overcoming those barriers are also included in this study. Then we
understand the role of communication in crises management, conflict resolution, negotiation,
cross cultural management etc.at last it concludes by giving the learnings from the project.

To study all above mentioned activities we have taken TCS – Tata Consultancy Service as
our organization. Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) is an Indian multinational
information technology (IT) service and consulting company headquartered in Mumbai,
Maharashtra, India. It is a subsidiary of Tata Group and operates in 149 locations across 45
countries.
