MP3player. They are from England but now they are on holiday with their parents in Capitola, a small town in California, in the USA.
They are staying for ten days.
The Lawson family go to the beach. They see a hotel with red rooms, some are green, some are yellow and some are blue. Mary takes
lots of photos.
Mary and Andy walk to the wharf. A man comes out from under the wharf. He has long grey hair and a grey beard. His clothes are
dirty. His name is Darryl. He is from Capitola. He isn´t very friendly because he says “this is my beach” and leaves.
In chapter 2 the family go to a restaurant. Andy and his sister go to the beach again. They see a man and a boat. The man is taking
some boxes out of the box and putting them in a white car. Mary takes some photos. There is a man and he is angry because Mary is
taking photos. They go away.
In chapter 3 Mary starts looking at the photos on her camera. Mary and her brother can see the man, the boxes and some letters on
the boxes – MBFC. Andy can see a picture on the man´s arm, it is an eagle. A police officer calls and asks for a car. Mr Lawson says
they have a red car. There is no problem. The officer leaves.
In chapter 4 the family go to see some whales and turtles on boat. Then they go to the beach. Mary sees a white car and she starts
running. David follows the car too. They run into a building and find the boxes. The man is speaking on the phone. They are afraid.
In chapter 5 Andy and Mary try to go out of the building by the window. They see the boxes and inside the boxes there are turtles.
They think they must tell the police. They put boxes under the window to escape. They get out. They climb a tree but there is
someone under the tree. He is Darryl.
In chapter 6 Mary and Andy tell Darryl about the boxes and the turtles. Darryl is a police officer and a detective. He wants to see the
photos with the man and the boxes. They want to find who is taking the turtles. David and Ellen Lawson are worried because the
children are not at home. They talk to officer McMahon. When the children get home they see the bird on the man´s arm. Darryl has
the man who is taking turtles from the see and selling them. David Lawson is angry with the teenagers but then he understands they
help the detective. The story has a happy ending.
