ABOUT THE COMITTEE: WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

1.1 Since April 7th, 1948; WHO committee recognized the preservation of
health as a fundamental right, seeking to improve health all around the
world (World Health Organization, 2020). Taking responsibility for the
different classifications of diseases and fighting for their specific
treatments (WHO, 2020).

1.2 THEIR VALUES

WHO's performance is based on integrity, professionalism and respect for


diversity. In addition to the pursuit of human rights, equity and universality.
1.2.1 Serve public health at all times- Position health first.
1.2.2 Professionalism and ecellence in health- Work with people
who meet the highest standars of health porfessionalism in
order to offer a decent service.
1.2.3 Persons of interity- Promotion of justice and honesty.
1.2.4 Collaborative colleagues and partners- Promotion of
teamwork to help and increase the learning process.
1.2.5 People caring about people- Fight for the right to health in
order to promote respect, safety and dignified treatment.

1.3 PERFORMANCE

WHO's role is developed in different parameters:


1.3.1 Health systems- Establishing universal health coverage as a
priority, helping different countries to enjoy health institutions
that are capable of providing specialized medical care, good
treatment and affordable prices. In addition to the development
of technologies and scientific databases for sanitary use.
1.3.2 Noncommunicable diseases- Being a great phenomenom
when representing 70% of all deaths, especially in countries
with a low or medium economy.
1.3.3 Health promotion throughout the life cycle- Preserves
citizen's good lifestyle, based on social and environmental
areas related to health and human rights.
1.3.4 Infectious diseases- Work is being carried out to promote
prevention methods and their respective treatment; In addition
to the implementation of vaccination.
1.3.5 Prevention, surveillance and response- Offering health aid
during unexpected events that may respresent a risk to
population's health. In addition to the search for prevention
through strategies and alertness.
1.3.6 Institutional services- Tools and elements to reach the
previously established objective.
