Is it important to learn another language? Why?

In México is very important to learn English because in this time is essential to have
more possibilities to find a good job. My teachers told me that if I want a great job, I
have to improve my English skills. In the companies, if you are better prepared with
an extra language, they consider you as a better candidate for the job. So, my level
of English has to be improved to qualify for a job that generates the satisfaction that
I expect.
Furthermore, speaking a universal language helps you a lot because if at any
moment you travel to another country, you can communicate with the local people
or some tourists. This is important to know in case of a situation where you are in
danger, you can talk to someone to help you.
Also, learning English opens up a world of possibilities because of the knowledge.
There are a lot of information than only can be read in that language, for example
the machine manuals.
Why is it important to learn another language for me?
For me, learning a different language helps to be a person with greater knowledge
and recognition from society. That recognition is what makes you a good person and
opens the doors to better things.
It is also essential to be able to travel without fear of meeting new people from
different cultures, to be able to order food in a restaurant, to be able to book a hotel
without the help of a translator, rent a car and be able to ask for guidance to get
somewhere you want to visit.
My experience in the english course (things I learned, things were hard and
easy)
Throughout my stay in the English course, I have learned to express my English in
a better way, because before starting it, it was very difficult for me to speak and
understand other people when they spoke English, for example in a video or movie.
In addition, I have learned different words that I did not know and grammatical
structures that were difficult for me, such as the "Reported Speech" and the "passive
voice". The easiest grammatical structures were the "first conditional" and "second
Conditional".
In what ways english will be an essencial tool at works (as engineer/chef)
If I learn English, it is easier to understand the work machines that come from other
countries. As I mentioned before, most of the machine manuals are written in English
and to take full advantage of their machine’s capacity, I have to know how do they
work.
In order to carry out the preventive maintenance that is done monthly it is also
necessary to understand the minimum of English, as well as you can have a better
salary since not all workers in this country have knowledge of English.
Another example of the importance of English is that it offers you good
communication with people who come to do an audit or training in a company.
If I had the chance to learn another language apart from English, I would
learn (why?)
If I have the opportunity to learn another language it would be German because it is
one of the most important in the world, most of the machinery used in international
companies are manufactured by German industries, as well as the configuration
manuals are made in that language.
I would very much like to work for an automotive company like Volkswagen, but it is
very important to know how to speak both English and German because the
company can send you to Germany to train you more about the machines and the
processes that are carried out there.
