In its thrust to promote the love for reading, the Department of Education (DepEd) issued DepEd Memorandum
No. 158, s. 2019 which supports the national celebration of the 2019 National Reading Month (NRM). This is
in support of the ten-point education agenda of the Duterte Administration and with the DepEd’s commitment
to providing quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education for all and to lay the foundation for
lifelong learning and service for the common good.

Considering the result of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in 2018 which the
Philippines ranked last among the 79 countries surveyed, our beloved school as a government-run institution
with an unswerving dedication in coming up with programs, projects, and activities which main focus is to
promoting quality education among its learners has intensified its Reading Recovery Program that includes
leveling up its technological capacity in introducing innovative and more effective strategies in teaching reading
among learners.

One of its projects is systemizing its classrooms to Audio Visual Classrooms with facilities that would employ
updated and technology-oriented reading strategies which are research-proven to be effective. Also, this project
would be a tool to further strengthen the Anti-Drug Campaign & Drug Abuse advocacy of the school which
would eventually help the department in achieving its vision, thus, making its learners become assets of the
society.

With this, the school came up with a strategy to raise funds for the development of the Audio Visual Classrooms
through an eco-run activity entitled “2020 HGEES Eco- Run 4 Holy Love” with City Permit No. 02011320 to be
held at the Lake Drive on February 22, 2020. Hence, we would like to extend our invitation to your company to
participate in the aforementioned endeavor. We believe that with your company by our side at this upcoming
event, we’re sure to achieve this year’s fundraising goals that would give the Cordillera Learner better access to
a more dynamic and effective learning.
